How can you say this is "fake", its a well known fact that he did sign it on New Years Eve... I am not even from America and even I know that he did actually sign it. Unless you mean the effects it apparently has on the bill of rights, in which case yeah I agree. lol
Um, someone provide me with a reliable link that proves this false, because I'm getting worried. :huh10: The Bill of Rights can NOT be overturned.. If this actually turns out to be true, I'm seriously moving to Canada lol...
A link to prove it false? The article in the OP did not even provide a link to back up what THEY were saying lol. But since you are asking - http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtex ... =h112-1540

Okay I skimmed over the entire bill (lol I have no life) and found two sections in Subtitle D that contradict OP's link completely:

In a section affirming the authority of the army to detain covered persons (terrorists or sympathizers) without trial or other rights:
(e) Authorities- Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect existing law or authorities relating to the detention of United States citizens, lawful resident aliens of the United States, or any other persons who are captured or arrested in the United States.
In a section regarding military custody of foreign Al-Qaeda terrorists:
(1) UNITED STATES CITIZENS- The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States.
In short, OP's link was nothing but a bunch of bull****. I can rest easy now. :P

LOL YAY. So we are safe and no such things will be done. You guys can just call me out, no need to write OP. Never said it was real or fake, just left it to you guys. I am glad FM found the link to the original bill. Now that my link has been completely contradicted, I guess you can say I'm INB4LOCK.

No worries. ^^
OP means original poster. It's just easier to type out than your username :P Next time you might want to base your news on more reputable sources lol.

The thing is I was not saying "Geni is wrong" I was saying the article you gave us was wrong. I didn't even have to read it properly, the fact it has no real sources to back up what it was saying, or that it is the internet where people will always spin news in their favour. And to be fair, even IF this new bill did give the president the RIGHT to detain a citizen without a trial, does not mean he would (think of all the negativity) it still gives the army their annual budget allowance... Or would you guys rather that your army does not get a budget and crumbles... You know, allowing other countries to start a war and take it from you? You can have that, or let the president have the right to detain SUSPECTED TERRORISTS.... Dunno about you but I know what I would have chosen.

Still, not like it matters now anyway, it was obviously a garbage article. lol
