Satisfied with Taraji’s performance now, even if it was still a bit difficult to make out what the little cub had spoken, Nala could tell that Taraji was becoming frustrated towards her. Knowing that there was a limit to how far anyone could push a cub in one day, the cream colored queen gently removed her paw from beneath Taraji’s chin, giving the crystal eyed cub a loving caress with her fore paw as she retracted it, speaking in a pleased voice.
”Good job Taraji. That wasn’t so bad now, was it?”
Adding to her mother’s supportive comment, Kiara chimed in as she praised her daughter for a job well done.
”There you go Cutie. Mommy’s very proud of you. I know it took a lot of courage for you to do that but it’s just a part of growing up like Nala said.”
Giving her mother a thankful nod, the golden furred princess rose to her paws now, making her way over to where her and Kovu’s assigned sleeping pelt for the meeting had been laid out at. Taking a comfortable position atop it, Kiara motioned for Taraji to come join her as she addressed her father, who was a few paws length away from where she was.
”Good evening Daddy.”
Smiling warmly down at his daughter, Simba moved up on all fours, making his way over to her before delivering a loving nuzzle to her, replying in a gentle voice as he did so.
”Good evening Sweetie, and hello to you too Taraji. Ready for another exciting Pride Meeting?
Kiara gave a sarcastic smile as she responded in an equally amused voice.
”Oh, of course Daddy. Can’t you tell? I’m just overflowing with excitement.”
Placing his large fore paw atop his daughter’s head, ruffling the fur between her ears in a playful manner, Simba chuckled as he replied in a reassuring tone.
”Don’t worry Kiara. I think you’ll find this meeting to be quite interesting actually.”
Both Kiara and Simba’s attention were grabbed by the sudden laughter coming from the entranceway of the main den, causing both curious felines to flash a glance over to the source of the commotion. Spotting Mila and Kivuli, completely losing themselves in hysterics, Kiara giggled as she stated.
”If that’s any indication of things to come, you’re definitely not kidding Daddy.”
Now that Taraji had left to be with Kiara, Nala found herself with Jamelia once more as she turned to the uniquely colored lioness and spoke.
”Well, looks like things are going to be getting underway here Jamelia. I hope you don’t mind me leaving you right now but I have to finish getting everything in order. If you need me though, just call out. Once the meetings underway, you’ll probably just want to rest or something, unless you can find any interest in our pride rituals here but it’s up to you. Just as long as you’re comfortable, that’s all that matters to me.”
Giving Jamelia a friendly smile, Nala moved off and outside the main den, passing by both Mila and Kivuli with a cheeky looking grin plastered on her muzzle as she did so. Taking hold of the least dismembered wildebeest carcass, the cream colored queen transported the tasty meal back into the den, setting it aside in the typical corner that most leftovers found themselves at. Repeating the process, just to assure that no scavengers would find their way to the pride’s meal, Nala carried the second wildebeest back into the den, plopping it next to the first, before moving off and making her way over to Rahina and Kopa, where she took a seat and addressed the pair.
”Glad to see you two back together. I hope everything is okay between the both of you and I’m happy you both made it to the Pride Meeting. Things should get started once everyone shows up. Basically, the only rules of the meeting are to be respectful to whoever is speaking and try to keep the background noise to a minimum. Typically, the meetings don’t last too long, as they end up becoming a social gathering rather than a serious event but just be patient and polite and there won’t be any problems.”
Seeing how exhausted Rahina looked, Nala couldn’t help herself as she leaned in close to where Rahina was, speaking in a muffled voice as she asked.
”Everything okay with you Rahina? You look so tired.”
