That moment when a study found that one third of boys who find guns in their house,
pull the trigger.

Well, I for one, love hearing opinions from other countries. After all, America is a melting pot of different cultures.

If you think about it, every law passed by Congress is a "belief forced on us". Laws about Handicap Spots, Laws about Drugs, Laws about Child Labor Restrictions. All of those are forced. You want a place without laws?
Regulus wrote:Guns can be dangerous in the hands of the wrong person. But since it's impossible to define who the wrong person is, banning guns from everyone (with the exception being they're the 0.01% that actually needs a gun) is fair.
But who is to decide who actually needs a gun? Does a mother living in a bad neighborhood need one? Because that is more than 0.01%

Actually, the Supreme Court has
ruled twice in the
past five years that we do have the right to handguns. Which means banning guns is as unconstitutional as banning free speech and abortion. But they did say restrictions can be placed upon them.

- To stop home invasions
- Hunting and sport (keep in mind 3% of gun crimes use rifles)
- Wild animals in backyard (for rural areas)
Guns are also equalizers. If a woman was being attacked with a knife, could she stop her attacker with a knife? Now how about with a gun?
To be honest, it's a tough issue. Anti-gun control advocates have some good points, and gun control advocates have good points as well. There's nothing we can do to prevent another Newtown shooting and there's nothing we can pass without a [censored]storm happening.
Stalemate.
