Massive School Shooting at an Elementary School

16 hours of work a week is not working. You spend more time than that a week getting to and form work.

As usual, you take on topic, and change to a whole different one. Get back on topic: What makes you think that you're qualified enough to, with 100% certainty, dictate what we should do with our own gun laws, in our own nation, and our own culture.

I do remember that you swore to me that you'll stay away from American related topics. Not only did you fail that in one day, here you are now telling us how we should run our own country. Here's a tip for you: The Netherlands are not perfect themselves. Once they are, I might listen to your advice.

Until then, leave us alone. Here's another big reason why people support gun rights:

If you hate guns, no one ever told you that you need to have one yourself. But if you ban guns, you're forcing your own beliefs onto others. Last time I checked, that's not a free system, which means it's not how it's done here in America.

Also, our dear President:

DGFone wrote:^ Of all the rules you just wrote down, non of them are the proper one.

The proper one is: "The guns is always loaded." It's not telling you that there is always a bullet in it, or that if its empty that you need to put one in, but rather that you always treat it as though it's loaded.

You're kidding, right? Did you even read what I said?

If you're going to debate, claiming everyone else a bunch of kids with no experience is not the way to do it.

If you actually had a point, you wouldn't be regurgitating the same old thing, over and over and over again, while rarely responding to anyone else's post. And you sure as heck wouldn't be consistently attacking Woeler.

You mentioned that it's a matter of rights, and for the last time I'm going to say this, it isn't.

It is not a right to be able to kill people. Guns are designed to kill people. So how is this logically sound?

Guns can be dangerous in the hands of the wrong person. But since it's impossible to define who the wrong person is, banning guns from everyone (with the exception being they're the 0.01% that actually needs a gun) is fair.

We do not have a right to own a gun, any more than we have a right to own a Death Star.

Oh, but Death Stars aren't all that bad! You just don't know how to use one. It's only up to the person in control not to use the superlaser to kill planets. If you learn to operate it safely it will be fine.

ANYTHING can be deadly in the hands of the wrong person. Anything. So why, based on this logic, don't we ban everything that can kill someone? Oh, and while we're on that topic, seeing as everyone who are born are destined to die, why don't we simple kill off all children today so that our generation will be the last, and once we will die off, there will be no more death?

Knives are very good killing utensils. The only reason why you don't go around telling others that we need to ban those is because you know that there are other uses for knives apart from killing people. Guess what, Einstein? Same with guns. Just because you don't think guns have any uses doesn't make it a fact.

What other uses are there for guns? I'm just curious.

Exactly right. Guns have no other use, aside from killing someone.

Give me one instance where you need a gun, and it's not to kill someone, or something. Can you think of anything?

I understand you like to shoot guns. If it's a hobby, that's fine. I understand.

I'm a big fan of racing. One day, I want to buy a sports car, even though it's very dangerous. However, even as an auto enthusiast, I would support a law requiring governors to be installed on all cars, to limit speeds to 80MPH. That is simply because I have no reason to ever go faster than that. Nobody needs to go that fast. I can still enjoy the thrill of driving a sports car at legal speeds.

It's the same concept. If you want to own guns, that's fine. But no one living in a civilized society today needs to be able to kill something that quickly. You can still shoot a gun with non-lethal ammunition. You can still defend yourself with non-lethal ammunition, as well as many other methods.

The only reason to ever not ban guns is the fact that we already have them, and taking them away is nearly impossible.

I'll give you that, and that's why the best solution is to do it slowly, with baby steps.

Hunting is still killing, so it falls into the same category.

True. Maybe they could be put on display? I'm not sure what else you could need a gun for that doesn't involve killing. :?

I made a homework about this topic.
We had to chose an event of 2012.
The reason I chose this horror is because I have a little brother whom I idolize.
The tought only that I would never see him again, never hold him in my arms...

No, not possible, an this is real.
Those parents will never see their children again.

How could someone do this :x

The past can hurt but the way I see it is, you can either run from it or learn from it.

That moment when a study found that one third of boys who find guns in their house, pull the trigger.

DGFone wrote:What makes you think that you're qualified enough to, with 100% certainty, dictate what we should do with our own gun laws, in our own nation, and our own culture.

Well, I for one, love hearing opinions from other countries. After all, America is a melting pot of different cultures.

DGFone wrote:If you hate guns, no one ever told you that you need to have one yourself. But if you ban guns, you're forcing your own beliefs onto others.

If you think about it, every law passed by Congress is a "belief forced on us". Laws about Handicap Spots, Laws about Drugs, Laws about Child Labor Restrictions. All of those are forced. You want a place without laws?

Regulus wrote:Guns can be dangerous in the hands of the wrong person. But since it's impossible to define who the wrong person is, banning guns from everyone (with the exception being they're the 0.01% that actually needs a gun) is fair.

But who is to decide who actually needs a gun? Does a mother living in a bad neighborhood need one? Because that is more than 0.01%

Regulus wrote:We do not have a right to own a gun, any more than we have a right to own a Death Star.

Actually, the Supreme Court has ruled twice in the past five years that we do have the right to handguns. Which means banning guns is as unconstitutional as banning free speech and abortion. But they did say restrictions can be placed upon them.

AdAstra wrote:What other uses are there for guns? I'm just curious.

  • To stop home invasions
  • Hunting and sport (keep in mind 3% of gun crimes use rifles)
  • Wild animals in backyard (for rural areas)

Guns are also equalizers. If a woman was being attacked with a knife, could she stop her attacker with a knife? Now how about with a gun?

To be honest, it's a tough issue. Anti-gun control advocates have some good points, and gun control advocates have good points as well. There's nothing we can do to prevent another Newtown shooting and there's nothing we can pass without a [censored]storm happening.
