Massive School Shooting at an Elementary School

You completely over-think it.

People grow and act in a way they don't see is evil. Others do see it. By that we forget that we are all human beings, which are limited. We are all evil sometimes, we might not see it ourselves but others do.

This. Ugh. And wanting to give teachers guns? I don't want a gun.

Let me just say yesterday was fun. There was a threat at the high school across the street saying they were going to come "shoot it up". No substantiated claims though, so they just heightened security all day. It was kind of a stressful day, not knowing if they'd lock us down at any moment. I will say that our school did a good job of keep everyone's spirits up. They played holiday music over the loud speakers so the kids were literally dancing to class, food everywhere, and just a good celebration before winter break.

I'm sorry but giving teachers guns isn't going to work. Taking away guns isn't going to work either. Whats the difference if he walked in with a machete?

Oh I know it won't fix it, but that's what some idiotic people are suggesting.

As far as the machete, that's generally not considered to be as lethal as the weapons used in a shooting. The intent here was clearly to kill as many people as possible. A machete just isn't going to do that.

Well I didn't mean that you were suggesting that. Sorry if I was unclear.

It's just not going to work, but you know if someone did come in with a machete he could still harm, if not kill, a good number of people too. Maybe not as many as a gun, but still a weapon none the less.

That's why more people choose to go with a more effective weapon such as a gun. They know it can do more "damage" to a large number of people with ease, then like a machete would. Remember, the bullet doesn't stay where the gun is, when used for it's sole purpose.

Yep, sometimes their remarks are comedy-gold.
Armed guards at schools... how ridiculous can it get?

It's already ridiculous that many school districts have to have their own police departments just to keep little things from happening. I know our officer is so busy dealing with petty things like stealing that I have no idea how he'd be able to respond to something like an armed gunman.

These cases always make me wonder why does the USA are still authorizing to wear a weapon... I mean if people can't wear any weapon anymore, these tragedies will highly and clearly decrease and become very rare, won't they?
And even if it is write in the American Constitution that anybody can have a weapon with him/her, why not changing the Constitution then? I don't see anything impossible to do here seriously. And if ever the Constitution can't be changed, just make extremely complicated to have a weapon with you, like in coutries such as Japan or Australia.
