I went to see the English version of Brave at the cinema, and picked up the DVD yesterday (I`ll save it for a birthday present for myself) I even bought a couple of Brave books (the essential guide, art of Brave)
I LOVED IT!!
Well done Pixar!
I was beyond ecstatic to see a Disney movie that focuses on the relationship between mother and daughter, something which is pretty much not done before ever. Not to mention the fact that Meridas father was also involved, and that she had siblings. I appreciated that the triplets were mute, it was a nice touch.
I just really, really love the fresh and original take on a Disney princess. The fact that romance was not part of the story was a huge relief, and although I certainly don`t mind when a princess spontanously bursts into song, it was nice that Merida never did. It would have broken with the overall fresh and new feel of the movie.
I didn`t start to cry at the end, though I did get choked up (the girl seated next to me cried) and I think I laughed the loudest of all when the old witch said "to hear this menu in Gaelic, please use the red vial"

The animation was amazing, so lush and beautiful, and the soundtrack was wonderful too!
Overall, I found this movie highly enjoyable and entertaining, very touching and visually stunning, packed with warmth and love.. Seeing the bond and the conflict between Eleanor and Merida was wonderful.
Brave definitly jumps up to the top amongst my favourite Disney movies.
