Anyway, vegetarianism does not appeal to me at all. I doubt many carnivores grieve for the meat they eat, so why should we? Besides, plants are living creatures too. And it's not like the animal won't be gobbled up by another hungry animal if we don't get to it first. Nature is cruel - deal with it.
Yeah I get what you mean!! I can't help but think that everything has feelings. But yeah i don't know. We must eat and so does everything else I guess!!But i do not want to continue eating meat.
As far as I'm concerned, your doing animals an injustice by not eating meat. The few vegetarians out there aren't going to make a lasting impression on the meat industry, and the demand of meat isn't going to drop, because the general mass isn't going to stop eating meat because they think it's wrong. Those animals are still going to be killed, the only difference is, when you don't eat them, they died in vain.
A few people aren't going to make a lasting impression, on an industry that produces thousands of jobs in an Economy that is in really bad shape. If we got rid of it, all we'd be doing is pushing our Economy further downhill.

However I will say that it isn't all that healthy. There's this disease called pallegra (please google it I really don't feel like going into great detal about it) which can make you have to get an amputation. I don't know about you but I don't want to loose a limb because I play softball and need all the limbs I can get! (sorry quick ot moment there ^^; ) You get pallegra from lack of proteins and other vital things that you can only get from meats. Not saying vegans will get pallegra but it could happen. Sometimes you can get everything you need from just vegetables, but humans were not made to eat just veggies, grains etc. A little meat in the diet can help maintain your health

I've never really liked eating meat and I always wanted to be a vegetarian, but my parents really shot me down for it so I didn't really have a choice but to eat what I was given at home ¬¬
It's a healthier lifestyle IMO. I eat a lot of vegetables/fruit/quorn etc. Iron is the only supplement I take and I had a blood test a few months ago and my blood was perfect. No signs of anemia whatsoever. I get plenty of fibre/protien/vitamins and I feel so much more energetic and healthier. Plus, I lost weight
Why did I become a veggie? Because it's something i've always wanted to do and the final push for me was when I went to an animal sanctuary this time last year. I was sitting outside eating my lunch and there were over 100 battery hens there. I tell you, if you saw the state of those poor things anyone would think twice about eating meat.
I don't have a problem with people who eat meat, but I don't eat it so expect people to respect that in return :3 Which thankfully most people have. My boyfriend gets annoyed when he can't cook, but it's so easy to substitute chicken/beef/bacon with quorn. Quorn fillets don't taste any different to chicken IMO xD
