I like how this topic went from Gaddafi to economics.

Back on topic: It would be great if the Libyans will find a way to rebuild their country without having to resort to even more violence.

Indeed. I have a feeling this won't be the end of the conflicts in Libya, but I really hope the future will be brighter for them now.

please just say that it's about the oil. Everybody knows anyway. NATO doesn't give a S*** about the people who live there or their human rights.

Gaddafi was actually cooperating with the US and Europe on so many levels, they actually will probably have less access to Libya's oil in the new Government, and they knew this from the start. I couldn't tell you the exact reason for their intervention, but in this case, seems like oil wasn't it.

It's the Libian dictator. He was killed by resistance fighters.

Yeah he was just a tyrant basically, and was known to deal with things in a violent way. So in February of this year the people of Libya (or some of them at least) started to protest his reign, and he imported troops to kill off the protesters which led to the Libyan civil war. He was captured and killed in the end though (not that it's surprising that a whole country eventually overthrew the reign of a single man)
