Daxis was still waiting that Laini walk away but she didnt do it ... far from it! she talked to him and Daxis lifted up his red maned head and looked a bit puzzled. But then his smile turned into a angry face as he herd the word king. Daxis replied annoyed while starring at her.

"I dont care what" then his voice changed into a absurd voice "The King" after a small break he continued talking
"says.... know you dont feel pleased in your new den you like your old...." He sighed and went a few steps nearer towards her.
"And what do you mean?"

Laini winced back even more. "The... King is the king. He protects us and we.... have to follow his rules..."
Laini never would talk bad about the king. For one reason because she had grown up in obidience before the king and because she was a bit afraid of him.

Daxis went another step towards her.
"I know it hurts you to see me in your den and im designed to live alone"
The small lion turned around and walked slowly to the edge of the pridelands.

Not knowing what she should do Laini followed Daxis. She knew that she was the reason he no padded towards the borders. Even if the king put him on trial he might not like the way she chased him out. Also Laini felt pity for him and guilty for being the one who did that.

She followed him but did not dare to talk to him again. She did not know what to say.

Having had about enough of Kivuli’s attitude, Simba spoke up in a stern voice. It was bad enough that the grey furred male spoke ill to him, but Simba would not stand idly by and let Kivuli adopt the same tone towards such a highly respected member of his Pride.

”Hold your tongue Kivuli when you address Rafiki. His knowledge and place within my pride deserves the utmost respect from all creatures and I will not allow for you to take up that tone of voice with him.”

Turning to speak to Rafiki once more, Simba was astonished to find that in the split second his attention was averted towards Kivuli, Rafiki had taken an abrupt leave, which often was the case with him. One could never expect or rely on Rafiki staying in one place for very long. Shrugging this fact off however, Simba returned his gaze back to Kivuli and spoke once again.

”I guess it’s up to me to deal with this situation now. Kivuli, I have no choice but to order you to stay away from Mila. Seeing as there is nothing happening between you two, that shouldn’t be a problem now, should it?” Simba stated, giving a rather smug smirk as he met with Kivuli’s fiery red eyes.

Figuring that at least by not banishing Kivuli altogether, which he truly wanted to do by this point, Simba would be giving Kivuli the benefit of the doubt and wouldn’t seem entirely like the bad guy in this case. Turning to face Mila, Simba spoke in a serious fashion.

”I don’t want you near Kivuli Mila Sweetie. I’m only looking out for your well being and if I catch him with you again, I will have no other option than to banish him…” Simba turned to face Kivuli as he muttered the last word. again.”

Knowing that he had other matters to attend to, Simba spoke directly to the small group of felines centered around The Private Waterhole.

”Now I ask that you all leave here. I need to speak with these new lions who have come to our lands in private.”

Taking a seat, Simba waited for everyone to follow his orders, flashing Kivuli a cold stare while he watched him take his leave.

Rafiki had silently taken his leave from the scene, glad that his trip hadn't been a complete waste of time. He retraced his steps towards his great Baobab tree.

--------------

Feeling slightly aimless now that Kiara was taking care of the trouble that had weighed on his mind for the past few moments, Kovu was slow in getting himself pulled back together. Taraji needed his attention though, so he again put on an air of cheerfulness that was becoming more and more genuine with each moment he spent with the adorable little cub.

"So good morning then little one. It looks like Kiara's given you a nice washing up, and I bet you're just about ready for some food now aren't you? We can take care of that, come with me." Kovu gently scooped Taraji up and placed her gently in her designated seat between his shoulder blades. He wasn't exactly sure where to get Taraji food that wouldn't be too hard on her, but he knew that the solution wouldn't come from lying around at home.

With that attitude Kovu stepped into the midday sun of the pridelands and set off into the wild. The ground beneath his feet was wet and squishy from recent rainfall. Kovu recalled the last night's events with distaste. He had been caught outside in the rain, and hadn't managed to return to his den without being thoroughly soaked. Vitani owed him one for that...

Despite his slow pace to ensure Taraji's safety, it wasn't long before Kovu found himself approaching Rafiki's massive Baobab tree. The monkey himself was just arriving home, and greeted Kovu with a sweeping arm gesture.

"Kovu my friend. Why do you find yourself outside my home?"

"Taraji and I were just looking for some breakfast. Isn't that right Taraji? This is Rafiki, he's and old friend of your mom's and I. He usually begins each new royal cub's life in the pridelands."

Rafiki peered into Kovu's mane, his large, gentle eyes unblinking and he grinned at the lovely young life that Kovu carried.

Daxis noticed Laini followed him but he thought she would turn around soon and leave him. He continued his way a few minutes then he stopped with a sigh and turned slowly around to her.

"Laini why are you following me please go away"

Daxis waited for a reply but then turned around again and continued his way.

Confused and unhappy with her actions Laini followed the request and stopped. She stood there for some time watching after the young lion and the turned around and slowly and with her head down she walked back into the direction of her old den.

Rafiki stepped back from little Taraji after his greeting and stood leaning on his stick.

"Perhaps I can help you with your breakfast Kovu. I have some sweet fruits in stored in my tree. If you like I could fetch dem for you."

Kovu was initially offended. Lions didn't eat fruits, and he told Rafiki as much. Rafiki responded with a twinkle in his eyes. "I see. I see. Perhaps you forget how much you enjoyed de passion fruits I found for you and Kiara de night we first met."

Kovu stopped short. He had forgotten as a matter of fact. Now he looked at Rafiki with new interest. "And you can let us have one or two of these fruits?"

No sooner were the words out of Kovus mouth did Rafiki shoot up into his tree, and a moment later two bright orange fruits dropped to the ground beside Kovu. Kovu looked up into the tree questioningly, but Rafiki did not reappear. Kovu lay down to let Taraji off his back, and began to slice a fruit up with his claws. He tasted a small morcel, and it was just as he remembered it: soft and sweet. The taste reminded him of Kiara.

"Here you go little one." he said to Taraji. "Breakfast is served."
