Vitani smiled when Kovu replied to her comment of them being a real family now, it brought a mile to her face, knowing that her brother felt just like that towards her. As the conversation turned for the sadder, which was mostly due to her, the severeness of Kovu's grief got to her as well. Upon the mention of Nuka and Zira, Vitani noticed tears running down Kovu's cheek as he told her how good it would have been for Nuka to get a second chance in the Pride Lands. ''Yes,mother wouldn't be able to live here with Simba, but Nuka... He could have...'' With that, she let out a few tears herself. As she closed her paw in on Kovu to wipe away his tears, he told him: ''Don't cry Kovu, you'll never be alone. Even if I'm gone... You'll still have Kiara'' With the mention of Kiara, she glared back towards the distance,in the sunset. Who knows if she'll ever get a mate herself... There was no one there for her, Kovu was all she had...
She moved in closer towards Kovu, just to feel that she wasn't alone. His warmness was enough to keep the coldness inside her from taking over. If she lost him, she'd be devastated, nothing could keep her cold heart warm anymore. ''Oh Kovu...'', she said as she leaned a bit at him, while still looking at the sunset with him. She couldn't find the words to say it to him, he was all that she had left in this life. ''You better not leave me alone here.'', she said with a small laughter, only trying to hide the sadness she felt with the thought of him gone.

Simba turned around as Nala asked him of waking Kiara. Kiara was always sleeping a lot longer that the rest of them, it would be good for her to get used to waking up earlier. She was going to be a queen one day and with that, she had to be up before every other member of the pride. Well, almost every, excluding the king. He thought for a second and then confirmed her. ''Yes,it's been a long time since we had her join us in our morning walk.'' He smiled at Nala and they started walking back to the cave to wake their daughter up.
As they closed in on the cave,it seemed to Simba as if he heard someone crying from inside. He looked at Nala with a worried gaze and then continued walking towards the cave with a bit faster pace. He entered the cave and saw Kiara on the ground, crying her eyes out... He was quite shocked to see her so upset. She must have had a nightmare...,he thought to himself. He frowned as he went towards her. ''Kiara! Kiara what's wrong?'', he asked her as he came near her and lowered his head ,nuzzling her. ''It's ok,stop crying...''
