Re: [PRIVATE] A Loner's Pride

Wafu stared at the lioness, although he really wanted to make a comeback he had to keep the act up if all was to go well. What was he doing anyway? He didn't even know the full story behind the plan he had involved himself in, all he knew is that he was doing something from a lion he could look up to and for now he decided that was enough of a reason. He slowly nodded at what Syira said.
"Got it, but trust me I didn't come here looking for any trouble" he said in the most non-aggressive tone he could make which was a near normal tone.

Zera felt Syira come up to her and start to act like a completely different lioness than she had thought of her. Now that I think about it, Syira seemed a lot like Mufalfa...is that his name?, Zera thought. But she had to mentally smile at herself since she was so bad at remembering names and it generally came across as rude. Which is what the exact opposite of herself was. Zera said nothing as Syira kept speaking and trying to make up for the attitude she had displayed but really when she thought Zera was judgmental, Zera was just listening to her ramble on making sure she knew they were cool or not. They were...but it was kind of fun to watch the lioness go on and on, which is what she wasn't expecting. "It's all good, dudette" she finally cut in through Syira's worries which Zera was sure would give her a new state of mind to focus on the situation at paw with the two males in front of them who were apparently more two-faced than she thought and more cocky for her liking.

Syira was just filled with good stuff to say right now as she suggested Eeve be the one to escort the fallen lion of theirs back to his den. As much as Zera would never and hate to admit it but she was thinking the same thing. Maybe more so to see what Taro's reaction would be to it for whether his mate/friend/sibling left, and also that it would make it easier for them to move around without conking into the unconcious body of Sius. But there were a few things that were troubling her about the lioness taking Sius back: she didn't know where to go, and how would she fare on lifting his entire body on top of her own weight. She would have asked (more like ordered) that guy Naki to take Sius back, but she wasn't sure if he was kind-hearted or not yet, so she held off on it. She would have taken him back herself but due to her being one of the strong ones-- who was also awake-- she had to stay put and fend her 'friends'.

Zera turned her body around to face Eeve and peered down at the young lioness, "Eeve could you do me a favor and bring Sius back to his den? I know it may be difficult, but we need your help". She was sure that the way Eeve had reacted to this whole thing she wasn't wanting to leave, but there was no other choice for them, nor the knocked out Sius. (My, this was turning into quite a day).

What was this guy, a bird? Zera could feel her temper start to slowly break through the wall she kept it behind so it didn't get in her way or take control of her, and it took a lot to get her angry most of the time-- this guy was good at being annoying. To signal she wasn't buying it, she stared him down from across her and stood in the middle of the male Taro and her apparent new friend Syira. How would the two react? She was pretty sure that the more confident lion would just go through with fighting, but this new lion seemed like he was only in it to bring mayhem at the price of someone else's neck being sliced open. She closed her eyes for a secretive eye roll and inward groan before opening them back up and looking at the two of them, "nothing we can't handle".

Eeve nodded at Zera and Syira, agreeing that the best thing for her to do would be to help the kind, hurt lion by protecting him from further harm.

"Of course," she said, but she didn't smile--she was still very wary of Mufalfa making serious threats towards hers and Taro's life. "Hey," she said to the golden lion, putting her paw on his shoulder. "Be careful, and don't get yourself killed, okay, T?" She gave him a quick nuzzle as he glanced down at her.

"Oh, I won't," he grinned, acting more confident than he was. "But keep outta the way...I don't want you getting hurt in the middle of it, okay? Help our new buddy out and lay low."

Eeve walked over to Sius, her eyes concerned. "Hey..." she said softly, touching his red mane. "I need to drag you back a bit, so hold still..." She grabbed a hearty mouthful of his mane and neck scruff. "Rreaddy?" She asked, her voice muffled.

Taro turned back to face Mufalfa again when Zera and Syira backed him up. "Thanks," he said gratefully, flashing Zera a quick smile. He felt braver, knowing he had new friends to back him up. His eyes levelled with Mufalfa's cold ones. "All right, so here's the ultimatum," he said clearly. "Leave, or fight."

Zera was thankfully able to keep her legs holding her up when she saw that quick and dashing smile of the male beside her. Wait a second! She was just overreacting! He was thanking both of the lionesses for their courage and help-- not just Zera (as much as she hated to admit it). But his smile...didn't it only reach her and not Syria?

This wasn't the time to be thinking about that! She had to focus on the task at paw which was making sure that they came out of this battle alive and relatively unscaved. So there wasn't the time to be pondering the secret language of flirtation/friendliness/kindness/whatever the heck it was called! When he turned away from her, though she knew it would aid her better in keeping her mind on track, she felt a slight sense of unhappiness that she was no longer in his eyes. But the confident lioness stood next to him still and looked at the two oppositions, waiting for their response. Who was she kidding? She was looking at Mulfalfa, seeing as how he seemed to have the only backbone out of the two of them.

Mufalfa was a little nervous, he admitted and it was not because he was scared of dying but because his plan was not yet completed. He looked towards the other lions and gulped. Suddenly he came up with a plan that would hopefully work. "Wafu!" He then looked at the young lion. "I knew this since the first time I met you who you were but I was just too nervous to tell you. Wafu I am your father." Suddenly he looked at everyone and said, "It is up to you if you spare my life but please I beg you don't let my son watch this. Please send him away." He tried to hold back a smile and said, "He has no one left. His mother already passed on. I am all that is left." He then looked towards the lions seeing if they would spare his life. "I guess I'll never see my son grow up. I guess I'll never see him grow old. Oh well. Finish me!"

He looked towards them and said, "Please forgive me for all I have done to you. Please don't let your hatred fill within you. Please just don't become angry." He tried not to laugh at his idiotic statements. "Well what are you waiting for? Aren't you going to do it?! I said just do it you dumb animals! Kill me!"

Wafu's jaw dropped as what Mufalfa said, his eyes followed the larger lion's moves with his mouth still agape as he listened to what this lion said.
"D-dad?" he said in a voice that had a mix of confusion, sorrow and maybe a ting of happiness and this tone was sincere. For in Wafu's mind he was debating on if this was a part of the plan or if this lion was really his father. His behavior and looks matched that of his fathers, he knew his mother was dead and Wafu told no one of that and Wafu couldn't even remember his fathers name so it was possible.
"Is it really you?" he said hopefully with just a slightest smile across his face.

As if having to look at them wasn't bad enough now she had to hear their sob story? It was times like these where she heard a story as sad as this one-- no matter how unoriginal it was-- that she was reminded that she was truly reminded of how heartless and/or inconceivable it was for her to see through liars' words. Mulfalfa seemed like he was pretty good at acting, but the reaction that he was getting from Wafu was...almost like you could never act this out. No! She couldn't get swept up in the moment of their "heartfelt moment" to something that could easily lead to an even larger fight if it was left at rest.

Still...she looked to her comrades for support on what they should do. She was speechless and couldn't think of what to do, so she had to trust their opinions in this situation. And if they did leave this alone, then they would have the chance to get to make sure that Sius was going to be alive and well when he woke up. If they chose to fight however, she would make sure that they would be gone with their tails either between their legs or yanked completely off their behinds. First it was to Syira that she focused her attentions on to see what she was doing, and then transferred over to Taro and stayed planted on him. He seemed like he would have an idea of what to do. He was a quick thinker from what she had seen.

Mufalfa looked at Wafu and told him, "Yes my son I am your father. Please just stay away from me while they decide my fate. Please don't watch them kill me!" He then looked at them and said, "Please if you are going to kill me send him away!" He hoped that this would be enough to convince them to at least let him stay and in time gain their trust enough so that he could kill them all in one swift stroke. If not then at least he tried to get the fools killed and hoped Wafu, the buffoon, would finish the job. He looked at the lioness in front of him and asked her, "Alright 'baby' what is going to be my fate?" He tried to look away to hide his laughter. He hoped that did not make her too angry.

He hoped this because he still wanted to remain to kill them all including Wafu. Wafu would simply be an idiotic pawn to help him. After he was done killing the rest of them he would 'dispose' of Wafu as well. Wafu would die crushed, knowing his only friend in the world had betrayed him. Mufalfa held back a smile knowing that would the ultimate betrayal that would make Wafu lose the chance to live. Until then though Mufalfa still needed the fool's help. "Wafu know that I regretted every day not seeing you. Know that I tried to see you so many times but your mother would not let me. I am so sorry Wafu. Your mother and I did love eachother but it just did not work out. We both tried to make it work but we failed. And so you had to live in a 'broken' family. I am sorry." Mufalfa held back another smile thinking he was good at pulling this 'acting' off.

To Mufalfa this may have all been just an act but Wafu took every word that the lion said as though it was the truth. Wafu just stared at him as tears slowly trickled but only from his green eye.
"I thought you were dead" he said softly without a hint a trickery in his tone as he thought this was all real but then frowned. "Where were you? That time after mom died, you told me run and don't look back you find me but you never came. And now you show up" he said. Truth be told Wafu now believed Mufalfa was his father and while he was surprised and sad a moment ago now there was a mixture of anger as he felt that he had been betrayed and abandoned. Little did Wafu know his real father was killed that day but now he had his mind set that this new lion was his father.

To his surprise, Sius had heard the entire conversation. Including Mufalfa's side of the story. On the one paw, if this really was Wafu's father, then he didn't want anything to do with either of them. Mufalfa had slashed his stomach, which was bleeding a bit more now as he was being slowly dragged across the African plain. And who's to say that Wafu wouldn't try to finish the job? Who's to say that this isn't all just some plot to accomplish... who knew what? On the other paw, what if Mufalfa had simply acted out of rational behavior. If he truly did love his son, then he would do anything he could to protect him from becoming a killer. To trust? Or to exile? It could not be one or the other. It was either neither or both. Though Sius' body had been injured, his mind still debated whether or not Mufalfa was a good lion misguided by trials of the past, or a bad lion deceived by lies of the past. It was becoming increasingly difficult to debate this topic. And at the rate the group was going, they wouldn't be able to make a decision for themselves. But Sius had confidence in himself. He was the only one who could decide Mufalfa's fate.

"E-Eeve... wait..." Sius softly muttered, surprising even himself. He seemed to come back to for a moment or two. However, his wound was becoming exceedingly painful to bare. But something propelled him to continue to talk. "Zera... do not kill him." He called out as loud as he could muster. As difficult as it was, Sius simply had to defend Mufalfa. Why? He wasn't entirely sure. Perhaps it was Mufasa? Whatever it was, Sius felt compelled to spare his life. Thinking over what they had previously talked about, Sius called out "Mufalfa doesn't want any friends. And I promise I won't lose any sleep over his choice." He gave another smug smirk to Mufalfa, as if he had learned nothing from his little encounter with Mufalfa's claws. "However, there will be no more bloodshed." Sius was as confused as the others in the group. "You are not welcome in my den Mufalfa... however, you may live outside in the harsh Africa sun if you wish to be with your son." It seemed a fair decision, as Mufalfa didn't seem to want to do more killing. He simply wanted to find his son, which he had.

"For now, You have earned a bit of my trust... do not throw it away. As for the rest of you, if you do not agree with my decision, speak now." Sius hoped that nobody would say anything, though he couldn't jump to a conclusion with the group. Eeve, who was saving Sius, might have thought him either kind or brainless. Perhaps a bit too kind for his own good? Zera might be the one, if any, to disagree. He hoped that she would see it his way. Taro wanted to fight as far as Sius could tell... He could only hope that his words had broken through Taro's anger. And Syira seemed to have held her tongue as of late. Perhaps this was a sign of trust to the others in the group... even Sius. It was ultimately up to the group to decide Mufalfa's fate. And as Sius drifted back into his death-bordering sleep, he mustered all his strength to say "And by the way Mufalfa, strength is not being able to kill anyone who stands in your way... strength is having the courage to stand up for your friends... no matter the cost on yourself."
