Burying the Past [PRIVATE: AC & The Whistlerify]

Re: Burying the Past [PRIVATE: AC & The Whistlerify]

When Juhudi stated his complain and got off, Lina for some reason decided not to do anything and let him enjoy his small victory, for now. Instead, as Juhudi and Kijamii talked to each other, she went towards Dakari, who already knew to lower his head and let her climb onto it. She really enjoyed the feeling of Dakari's mane, more than cuddling up against her father's at least. He and her mother never had alot of time to play with her, since they always had 'something more important' to do. But since she had Rini, Juhudi, Dakari and also Kijamii now, she didn't really mind that.

However when Juhudi made his comment about being the coolest cub in the pride, Lina let out a short snort, not to tease Juhudi, but to get his attention. "Watch it." she said with a grin, letting him know that she was at a better position than he was. But since she promised herself to let Juhudi enjoy the fact that he beat her, she just said it in a playful tone and did nothing.

---------

When Tanga finally caught up and came to her side, Marini couldn't help but notice that he was acting really wierd. "Don't worry, I don't bite." she said as the two went towards the direction she had picked. Maybe they would come across something interesting on the way. What did he mean exactly by 'getting to know her better'?

Juhudi turned to Lina as she snorted at his comment about him being cool, gave her a self-satisfied smirk, not letting her comment to watch his tongue have any affect in the slightest. Instead, he just stuck his tongue out at her in a perfect display of cubbish maturity, before turning back to Kijamii. "So, what have you been up to, Kijamii?" he asked eagerly, sitting in front of the grey lioness, his tail flicking back and forth, displaying his own restless nature.

Kijamii smiled at Juhudi as he asked her what she ahd been up to. She had seen him stick his tongue out at Lina, and thought the young lioness might have something to say about that, but for now focused on Juhudi's question. "Not an awful lot...I only arrived yesterday, so I'm still trying to understadn what it's like here...although meeting wonderful lions like you three certainly helps." She added, smiling as Juhudi grinned at the compliment.

----------

Tanga looked at Marini at her comment, before realising that he was giving her more space than she obviously felt she needed. "Sorry," he mumbled shyly. "I'm not used to this at all..." he admitted softly, before moving slightly closer to her as they continued wandering through the territory. "So...is there anyplace specific we're going?" he asked, in an attempt to strike up some kind of small conversation.

(( Why was my post erased?.. =o ))

You would expect Lina to get mad or playful as Juhudi stuck her tongue out at her, but she didn't. She was just never able to get angry at Juhudi, even a little, no matter what he did. He gaze suddenly set upon the sky, were she could see some clouds gathering. Whether it would rain soon or not, she didn't know. Either way, she wouldn't mind. She enjoyed the rain, and therefore didn't care whether it rained or not. She still hoped it would rain, since the way Dakari looked when he was completly soaked was always hilarious.

Noticing the playful mood Juhudi was displaying, Dakari immediatly felt like playing something, like he usually felt when he was around cubs like Juhudi or Lina. "Why don't you think of something to play then?" he asked, looking at Juhudi with a grin. Playing with those two was heck of a fun, and he wondered what would it be like playing with them now that Kijamii would also take part.

-------------------

Marini wasn't surprised at the shy behaviour Tanga was displaying, he never seemed like the social type, which made some sort of sense because he lived with his parents and sister as rogues for his entire life. It didn't bother her, and she didn't notice the fact that she was finding it rather cute. "I wasn't planning on going anywhere specific." she admitted, "Then again... I'm kinda thirsty." she said, deciding that Tanga was probably also in need for some water after being inside that den ever since yesterday

((Something happened to the site, and posts made within a certain time frame got deleted...everything's back to normal now))

Juhudi grinned as Lina suggested he think of something to play...he wanted to see just how much this new lioness really was. "Alright!" he cried. "How about..." he then grinned as he got a great idea. "How about a race? But me and you, Lina, we each ride on one of these two!" he knew that both himself and Lina loved riding on the backs of the adult lions, although Dakari was really the only one they ever did that with...maybe this new lioness would be up for it?

Kijamii smiled at Juhudi's suggestion. "As long as both of you are happy with it, along with Dakari, of course...I'm happy to run around with one of you...as long as you hang on tight, I'm not letting you fall off," she said, smiling the whole way, flashing Dakari a playful grin, one that clearly challenged him to this race...she thought she was a good runner, and was confident in her ability to out-race her new friend.

----------

Tanga nodded as Marini changed her plans, suggesting a trip to a nearby stream or waterhole. "Yeah...me too. I should probably hunt something down later today as well...I'm kinda hungry, too," he added, as his stomach took that exact moment to complain. He had not eaten since the morning they arrived in this place, and even them it had not been much...he had not eaten properly for weeks because of his grief, and his body was now protesting his previous actions.

Lina grinned at Juhudi's idea. She enjoyed taking rides on Dakari, and the best part was that if she lost, she could blame him for it. And if it actually did rain in the middle of the race, it would be even better! Being a playful cub as she was, her job was to make sure that the race would be as long as possible. "Were should we race to, then?" she asked, deciding to let them figure that out, and if would seem to short for her, she would suggest something else.

When Juhudi suggested the race, which was basically going to be between him and Kijamii, he smiled at the idea. But what if he lost? Then again, it would probably be less emberassing than just rejecting Kijamii's challenge, which was sent to him as a playful grin. "Sounds fun to me." he said, hoping that if he lost, he wouldn't be left too far behind.

----------------

When Tanga mentioned he was hungry, Marini's mind went to that morning's meal. "Don't bother... I think there are some leftovers from this morning's meal." she said, deciding that there was no need to hunt down another being if there was still some food left. She remembered that as a cub, she in her own grief barely ate anything. She was lucky to have Dakari there, who made sure she ate enough untill she got better.

It was soon after that when she saw the waterhole, which they got to faster than she expected for some reason. "Time flies." she said with a slight smile, looking at Tanga and trying to see if he was still nervous. That question was soon answered when she noticed that he was still avoiding looking at her, but she figured it was due to his shy nature, which caused her to giggle.

Kijamii simply smiles at Lina as she asked where the race should be to. Since she had only explored the area between her home and Dakari's hideout, she could not make any suggestions herself. She simply settled between looking between Dakari and Juhudi, waiting for one of them to suggest something. She also realised that her lack of knowledge of the area would be a significant disadvantage. But with one of Lina or Juhudi on her back, she could simply have them guide her, which would certainly help.

Eventually Juhudi managed to speak up. "Hey, how about we race to your den, Dakari?" Juhudi suggested. "And if that's not long enough, we could always make the race there and back!" he added excitedly. He couldn't wait to get this started...except there was one more thing left, which brought a conflicted look on his face. "But who's riding who?" he asked. He loved riding on Dakari, as it was a pasttime of sorts for him and Lina...but he was also curious as to what this new lioness was like. In the end, he decided he could not decide himself, and looked at Lina, waiting for her to make her decision. Either way, he realised, it would be awesome fun.

----------

Tanga nodded as Marini suggested there were leftovers from this morning's meal that he could eat, silently berating himself...of course, now that he was with a pride, they would eat together. He would no longer need to kill specifically for himself and Kijamii...not unless he wanted to waste the lives of the herds around here, which was never a good idea. He realised that he was going to have to get used to living in a pride now, and the thought actually brought a hint of a smile to his muzzle...his family had always lived as rogues, and he had never really had any hope of joining a pride, as much as he wished he could one day. Now that dream had come true, and to top it all off, he had made a new friend in Marini...

Fortunately the lioness in question spoke up again, reminding him that they had reached the waterhole, before his rambling thoughts could continue on and embarrass him. He did, however, remember the way in which had easily read him, and went red at the idea of having a crush on Marini. Fighting to keep his blush hidden under his fur, praying Marini could not notice it, he looked up and saw the waterhole, smiling as he heard Marini giggle. "That it does," he said vaguely, still distracted with trying to bring his wandering thoughts back under control, as he slowly approached the waterhole, sighing in contentment as he started to lap up the cool, refreshing water, only now realising just how thirsty he was.

A confilcted look, which was identical to Juhudi's, came onto Lina's face as well. The really was a tough one, and of such importance! (for a cub). She jumped off Dakari and wandered to Juhudi's side, trying to think on how they were going to decide that. As the two remained silent, Dakari went over and sat next to Kijamii, feeling like it was a good time to start some conversation with her. "So..." he began nervously, his paw shifting from one side to another. "What do you think of these two?"

---------

Marini also went over to the water and drank a little, unlike Tanga who continued to drink on and on. She caught sight of the tunnel on the other end of the waterhole, which she had seen many times, but she never dared to go inside. As she stepped away from the waterhole, she once again looked at Tanga, who was still drinking, a sly smile creept to her muzzle as she thought of how funny would it be if she pushed him inside. But since it was pretty mean, she decided not to, for now at least. Instead, she decided to just wait for him to finish before thinking on what they could do next.

Kijamii also watched the two cubs, obviously deep in thought over Juhudi's question of which adult they were going to race on. As Dakari asked her about them, a grin jumped onto her muzzle almost instantly, betraying her answer before she even spoke. "They're both just adorable!" she exclaimed, although she tried to keep her voice low so the cubs wouldn't overhear...no need to interrupt them. "It's going to be so fun hanging around them...and you," she added, smiling at Dakari. "The only thing I'm worried about is neglecting Tanga now...but hopefully Marini will help him there," she continued, her voice slowly losing its excited edge.

In the end, she turned back to Dakari, a warm, grateful smile on her muzzle. "Thank you, Dakari, for everything today...I've already had the greatest day, and all because of you."

----------

After drinking for a rather considerable amount of time, Tanga finally managed to quench the worst of his thirst, and sat back up, remaining on the shoreline of the waterhole as he wiped a paw across his muzzle. "Oh, that's better!" he sighed, grinning at Marini. "Thanks for showing me around...I know this is all you've shown me so far...but I know I'm going to be coming back here a lot."

He then turned, and spotted the cave entrance on the other side of the water hole. "Wait...what's in there?" he asked, his curiosity rising. It seemed too small to be a den of any kind...and it looked deep, almost like a tunnel...but a tunnel to what, he found himself wondering. Despite his curiosity, he remained sitting at the edge of the waterhole, his gaze flicking back to Marini as he waited for her explanation...or lack thereof if she did not know.

Dakari couldn't help but smile at what Kijamii was saying. Even though he wasn't showing it, her words meant alot to him. But as she reminded him of Marini and Tanga, he couldn't help but wonder were they were right now, and what were they doing at the moment. He knew it wouldn't matter whether he figured that out now or later, and so decided not to suggest anything stupid. "Oh... really?" he asked in question of Kijamii's best day statement. "Make sure you come back tomorrow then." he added, throwing that as one of his regular jokes.

------------

Marini smiled slightly as she saw the more genuine smile on Tanga's face. However her smile vanished when Tanga spotted the cave on the other side, and asked her about it. "I... don't know." she said, hoping that, whatever Tanga would do next, wouldn't be suggesting going in there. She then noticed that the sun was 'gone', and when she looked up, she could see the rain clouds up in the sky. Maybe if they began going back now, they could get back to the den before it began raining? She was about to say something about that, when a drop of water fell from above and landed right on her muzzle. "You're kidding right?" she asked with a sigh, looking up at the clouds and so not aiming the question at Tanga at all. From the looks of it, it looked like a storm was just starting.

Kijamii could not help but laugh at Dakari's witty reply to her comment of having a great day...the humour in that comment just reinforced her point of how much fun she was having...easily the most fun she had had since her parents had been taken from this world. "Alright, then...I'll take that as a promise," she said slyly, deciding to counter Dakari's wit with a bit of her own.

Juhudi turned to the two older leonines at Kijamii's laugh, but had not heard their earlier words, so did not understand what was so funny. Smiling at Kijamii's obvious happiness though, taking it as a sign that she would be a lot like Dakari, he turned back to Lina. "Alright, Lina...you wanna have a boys against girls race...or will I get to race with the new lioness?" he asked...he was excited for the race, and his cubbish impatience was starting to kick in.

----------

Tanga cocked his head sideways as Marini admitted she did not know what secrets the cave nearby held, and he turned back to the dark opening, curiosity filling him. What secrets did it hold? Tanga might be a quiet lion, but that did not mean he was curious...he was just better at hiding and restraining it than some.

But Marini's exasperated comment distracted him as he turned back to her, wondering what he had done to irritate her. But when he noticed her looking at the sky, he too looked up at the gathering darkness the clouds were beginning to produce, only to wince and blink as a raindrop fell straight into one of his electric eyes. Realising what Marini was getting agitated about, he too sighed, as he realised how fast the storm seemed to be building...they probably had minutes at the most before the brief droplets hitting them now turned into a raging torrent.

Sincerely hoping he was wrong...he turned to Marini, hoping he hadn't gotten her caught out in a storm because of his request for a little company. "Do you think we have time to get back?" he asked, his gaze flicking towards the cave nearby once more...at the very least, they had that to fall back on if things got nasty faster than he had predicted.
