Meow,
My name is Puma, I am 27, I am from WA, USA and have been a fan of the Lion King since it first came out back in 1994. I have been collecting Lion King stuff for years and have watched the movie several hundred times. I have not been on a Lion King forum for years and this community looks pretty active so I figured I would come and join the pride.

Hi to all and I look forward to participating in the forum!

Hi Puma! Welcome to the site. That's totally awesome that you live in Point Roberts... never been there myself but I know of it, and it fascinates me due to its being a near-enclave. Hope you enjoy the site!

Hi Simba66 and YFWE, thanks for the welcome.

Point Roberts is sort of a weird place. I think of it like a gated community, that is protected by the Department of Homeland Security. It is sort of interesting because Canada won't allow U.S. people with a criminal record in and the U.S. won't allow Canadians in with a bad record. It makes for almost non-existent crime. The fact that you have to cross two borders to get to the mainland of the U.S.A. from here makes border crossing a frequent affair for us. The local school only goes up to the 3rd Grade, so students from here are bussed through Canada to Blaine, WA. and back again through Canada after school.

Map of where Point Roberts, WA is:

There is not a lot here. Only a few hundred people live here full time. A grocery store, several gas stations (cause gas is cheaper here then in Canada) and several mail places where Canadians can get all their eBay crap shipped from sellers who won't ship outside of the U.S. I really like it here, but it takes a certain kind of person to live here, and someone who doesn't mind dealing with borders frequently. Which I can tell you can be a real pain sometimes. I usually go shopping for groceries and stuff in Bellingham, WA with my wife and we have to constantly keep up with the rules of what you can both take through Canada and what you can and can't bring back into the U.S. For example firewood is a nono, you can't bring U.S. firewood through Canada, and you can't bring Canadian firewood into the U.S. but if it is dimension lumber, that is no problem, provided there isn't a tiny spot of rot on any of the wood, if there is then they go apeshit at the border.

PS. If anyone is interested in seeing some of my TLK collection, I have photos of some of it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/puma2/ I have been collecting Lion King stuff for a long time. I have loved the movie since it came out.

Hello there, I am a 24 year-old woman in my last semester of college. I have been reading topics on this forum for months now, and it does have me obsessed with characters outside the cannon universe, especially Kopa. My only regret is I can't draw or I would have a really cool custom signature of a Kovu like lion with the half mask from Phantom of the Opera. My username actually comes from Phantom of the Opera. I am married with two dogs whom I love! I first saw the Lion King when I was eight and became an addict. I remember crying so hard when Mufasa died. My best friend and I used to pretend to be Simba (me) and she Nala when she pounces on him going "PINNED YA!). The one gift I wanted for Christmas that year was the purring Simba, which I still have! It got me through my appendectomy as it was the only stuffed animal I wanted. I love, love, love my hubby! I am also in my last semester of college. I tend to love most Disney movies, and am a HUGE shipper.

I would love it if anyone could make me a signature!! Good to be here.
