Look, as much as I want to change your opinion of SP Simba, I can't. Just as you can't change mine. So we can easily agree on this statement:
Simba is a good king, and an overprotective father. He cares for his family so much that he won't let anything like Scar happen to them. Especially not to Kiara. Naturally, he wouldn't trust Kovu, and he does make a few hasty decisions. However, What it comes down to, is Simba is only trying to protect his family from someone who he doesn't trust. His trial for Kovu is unfair, and he completely contradicts himself with songs. This has it's good perspective (the way I see it) and the bad perspective (the way you see it) but the point is, Simba can lean either way in this movie.
