While I'm not familiar with who you two are talking about, you're not alone in not getting over loss. I don't think anyone completely gets over loss. You stabilize after a week or two and are able to move on, but the pain stays buried in your heart, occasionally letting itself back out. On the bright side, mourning now and then is healthy.

I was basically referring to a friend of mine I had in high school who died one day suddenly of an aneurysm, when I was 14. Even though we weren't super close, I was definitely closer to her than a lot of people as she was one of the few friends I had and was in my group, so we hung out a lot and she was very close with some of my best friends - the impact was definitely felt and the suddenness of it, too, was something that stuck with me for a long time.

Nina went through a similar experience shortly thereafter and I ended up reaching out to her, back in 2013. That's kind of how we became friends, actually.

But thank you a lot for the well-wishes. I appreciate it. Death is hard, especially when it's unexpected and you're young and you're dealing with a lot of other things. But I think it teaches you a lot about your own frailty as well. I think, if nothing else, it encouraged me to go out and live my life to the fullest, which is something I desperately needed at that point in my life.

Back to the shop today to get madams feet measured again as I'm not convinced these shoes fit her properly

^ She's growing too fast! Those trainers she was wearing in the pictures yesterday look massive compared to her first pair of shoes a few months back.

By February, I'll be a shareholder in the company I work for, and I've just signed up to save up for my second lot of shares over the next three years. Added to the money my parents are keeping safe in a building society for me, I should have a nice litte nest egg in a few years.
