Well, this conversation has gone places. For the record, I'm in agreement that Nuka's resentment towards Scar in that "Scar wasn't even [Kovu's] father" line has plenty of in-character weight behind it without Nuka actually being related to Scar. He was just overlooked even though he felt he was qualified because he was the oldest, etc. Also, if we're really going to get into this with deleted scenes, let's remember then that Nala had left the Pridelands as a result of Scar making moves on her because he had no queen (no Zira, so they weren't close at that point) or "little Scars", and only a few days later does she return with Simba.
I think we're all missing the important part here: Vitani and Fuli are going to fight!
Yeah I think the whole parentage debate overtook the thread. I think this looks like an intriguing episode that could be a game changer. Fuli and Vitani fighting should be very cool I wonder how they will portray Vitani will she be the more like the snarky cub from my lullaby or more in line with the obedient soldier she became. However I am most intrigued with the conversation between Kion and Zira she seems to be trying to explain scar from a different perspective likely to show Kion he and Scar were similar in their beliefs and that Scar was misunderstood.
The truth is Kion is a very good example of just how a Guard could be more suited to rule. Kion is a better leader than Kiara he is less naive and understands his kingdom better to such an extent he has had to save Kiara repeatedly many times from her own mistakes. Kion is better suited to rule in theory, all Zira has to do is plant this thought. Kion is driven to defend others as well as his home all Zira has to do is paint an image of his family especially Kiara being incompetent that they cannot keep the pride lands safe and stable, that the kingdom is legitimately better off in his paws, which won't be all that difficult since so far the pride lands are better off under Kion's rule.
