Yep but I mean... Who can blame them? MLK is, I mean The Den is still fun to post around in and chat to people in (being that most of the posts every day are made here) but for those who want a community of TLK fans who all talk together and create fan projects and RPs etc? Not so much. MLK kind of fell apart under the weight of its own crap decisions and people who just got so fed up with it that in the end they either left or got themselves banned.
Hello! Moderators have been noticing an increase in the amount of general "chit chat" in forum topics. This can be harmful to forums and bloat the forum with unnecessary discussion. In an attempt to reduce this, we're going to move the chatroom to the index page of the forum. Please use it instead of creating topics that are borderline spam.
We hope this will streamline the forum a little more and keep posts that are borderline spam in the chatroom.
We've also opened the chatroom up to members who have an approved post in the forums.

Since then he, and the moderators have: removed member dens and let everyone have their own den in Member HQ, thus the forum has multiple areas dedicated exactly to spam.
Opened the World Issues forum (which used to be called the smarty pants forum LOL) wherein people can discuss things like abortion, politics, war and every topic that has started an argument ever... Which is pretty amazing for a forum that has a NO POSTING STUFF THAT WILL PROMOTE ARGUING rule.
Has decided that post count should now go up everywhere in the board instead od just in the TLK sections, so now there's nothing more to be gained from actually contributing to relevant threads than there is from telling everyone that you ate a bowl of cornflakes for breakfast this morning.
And also removed the chat from the front page and now as a tiny link on the bottom that takes you there.
So yeah, weird decision and negative reactions from the community are what ruined it. I may not have a forum of my own, but if I ever do, I will always use this as an example of how not to run it and turn it into a place built for off topic discussions just themed after a certain film.
Ad for those who HAVE joined within the past three years or so and weren't around that long ago: you can still enjoy this place of course and use it for what its intended for OR for just posting what you are thinking RIGHT NOW. But I'm just saying there was a time where it WAS more active and was actually geared towards TLK discussion and fan projects. I'm not even really saying that it sucks now, there's some really lovely people here and I wouldn't be here still without those people being here but I think every long time member would agree that it definitely has changed and not in the good way.
People didn't just suddenly go "I hate TLK" and leave. It was constant bad decisions and constant negative reactions from people (that the mods wrote off as "trolling") that did it. At least that's the answer I keep coming back to.
