It's called the "Increase Your Post Count Thread". The aim of the game is to post anything, any old random nonsense to increase your post count. The person with the highest post count when the forum finally explodes, wins a cookie. :D

A chocolate chip cookie? :D

I don't get the whole issue, here. It may have been a large thread but as Flip's topic, I think he has the prerogative to decide if he wants it to be locked. You would want that for anyone else, wouldn't you? If you made a topic and felt it was getting out of control, wouldn't you wish to do the same? So why is this any different?

I had a lot of fun in there while it lasted but I can see why he would want to lock it. A lot of the drama in the past year has originated from there and blown up to massive proportions. It was causing much more trouble than it was worth towards the end, I think... and honestly. There's many other threads that serve the exact same purpose.

I don't know what it is, but MLK has this tendency to take small little molehills and then make mountains out of them. Next thing y'know, everyone is losing friends over some minor quibble. It's tiring. The thread ran its course and while I did enjoy it in the past, I'm okay with it. I can move on.

On the contrary - I'm having a Skype discussion right now with someone and they're honestly pretty angry over it.

I didn't request a lock because I thought it was getting out of control, I requested a lock because I thought it was stupid.
But you're right about the other stuff, though.
I know this thread is going a bit off topic now but just give it a day or so for the shock of one of the most active threads on this forum finally getting a long overdue lock and things will be fine :)
Plus the chatroom is being used now, so yep, I'm happy with my decision because that's what I was going for, a more unified place to talk.
Do you really think a gues browsing the board will want to register when they see that "LAST PERSON TO POST WINS" is the most active thread on the index page? I know I probably wouldn't.

Seriously? No offense to that person, but I think they need to find some REAL problems. It was a thread that even the creator admitted was pointless.

I'm going to shut up on the subject now. *zips gob*.

It's not like me to give my opinion on forum issues, I must be tired. :D

I don't understand why losing a 'joke' thread is such a big issue when it was really just a glorified chatroom, we already have a chatroom and a chat thread apparently so why is this such a big loss? :/

If you ask me the chatroom should be promoted more so we don't have silly threads like that.
