The slims wore out more easily in my experience, we have a "fat" one now and it's lasted longer than any of our slims ever did. We had a "fat" one that a cat broke, and at least two slim ones, and now we have one of the original ones again.

Well, we'll wait and see. This slim one is barely used apparently, and even if it is a bust it was relatively inexpensive, and I'm trying to set up a collection of old consoles, so at least it can be added to that
