It was 20 degrees out today. It's going to be - 3 tomorrow. What is wrong with this weather?

I'm kinda hoping that I will have the energy to stay up to see the eclipse tonight. Suppose to be out at about 1AM, but the cloud cover that we got is not going to make it very easy to see...

Sweet. New SSD acquired. The computer is in the middle of a data migration, so I'll be lurking here on the internet using my old desktop while waiting.

Hopefully this works flawlessly and without any kinks.

EDIT: Apparently I can't tell the difference between birds chirping, hard disks spinning up, and CD drive noises.

^ You never realize how loud bloody HDD's are until you get an SSD ;)

Data migration is complete, and I've swapped out the disks.

I can boot into Windoze within 10 seconds, and startup programs take an additional 20 to 30 seconds to load.

I'm not impressed yet, but I'm still yet to do tons of disk-intensive things that will probably blow me away.

EDIT: OK, you know when you double-click something like an audio file and there's a short hundred-or-so-millisecond delay between the final click and the music player playing it? With an SSD, that lag is no longer there. It was pretty disorienting to hear the music so soon after double-clicking it.

The loudest part of my computer is the exhaust fan. The HDD never makes any noticeable noise because 1) I'm always wearing headphones and 2) I thought all 2.5", single-platter 5400RPM drives were silent as heck.

The part where the hard drive compartment is located feels a tinge cooler, though, and that's great since it's where I rest my right hand.

^ Weird. Meanwhile, down here it's hot enough to go swimming at 9AM.

Okay, this is odd. This is the weirdest, most unexplainable dream I've ever had. And somehow it's already happened twice in the past month. Stop being weird, brain. It's starting to get a little ridiculous, now.
