Watching Schwari’s reaction to the foul smelling flora, Zina listened to what conclusion the grey furred male had made about the potential herb before she smiled and nodded before replying in a thoughtful tone.
”You’re on the right track there Schwari. Indeed, this herb, if taken in a small amount, will result in you vomiting. Why on earth would you want that to happen though? Well, think about it. Let’s say you ate some really bad carrion while you’re traveling, or in my case, just to survive since you’ve seen that my hunting skills, or lack there of, aren’t exactly up to par with a lioness’ standards. Anyways, let’s say you ate it right, and afterwards, you just have the worst stomach ache. Well, take a small amount of this herb and after quite the messy moment, I assure you, you’ll feel better.”
Giving Schwari a friendly grin, Zina carefully plucked off a single peddle from the pungent flower, holding it in her paw as she resumed speaking.
”Now you remember what I told you about mixing herbs, right? Well, now that you know what this one does, imagine combining it with, oh, let’s say, an herb that breaks down internal organs. What do you suppose the outcome of that mixture would be?” Knowing full well that Schwari was bright enough to see what she was hinting at, Zina fielded the answer to her own question as she picked up where she had left off. ”Exactly, something that you don’t want to mess with. One of the universal rules of being a Shaman is that you’re not supposed to use your knowledge in disreputable ways, although I’m sure you can guess how often this unsung rule is broken. It’s amazing to me, just how one little change to a simple recipe, can transform something that could potentially save ones life, into something that could just as easily end it.”
Letting the single peddle from the flower, slip between her paw toes now, Zina turned her focus to another one of the adjoining flowers in the small patch, gingerly snipping off an entire bud from the stem as she lowered her head so that her herb pouch slipped from around her neck. Opening it up, Zina plopped the flora inside before closing it once again and repositioning it back around her neck before she stated.
”That one I just took, it’s part of the mixture that we’re after. The one that will stop open wounds from bleeding. There’s still several more herbs we need though, so let’s get a move on, kay?”
Giving another fond smile to Schwari, as she was quickly finding herself enjoying his company now that her own interests had taken the spotlight, Zina moved off, her figure looking like the picturesque lioness that Schwari had hinted at, that had laid dormant within Zina’s being for the longest time, only now, beginning to surface.

Giving Siri a quick stare before she moved outside with Ayari, Siri’s words still hovering about within her thoughts, Vitani managed a sheepish grin from what her old friend stated, causing the former Outlander to reply in a hopeful voice.
”Well, as best that could be hoped for I suppose Ayari. Maybe if we were going up against a horde of angry meerkats, we might stand a bit of a chance of victory, but for now, there’s still a lot of work to be done.”
Walking alongside her love interest, Vitani stayed quiet for a second, melding over what Siri had said. Glancing over at Ayari, Vitani spoke up once more, a hint of uncertainty in her voice as she did so.
”Ayari? Are you…scared about this upcoming battle? I mean, not scared as in, afraid to fight…but…scared to maybe…lose?”
