Uramoron.

The article you provided in the link to explains how lust is in our heads due to hormones. And even still, if it wasn't for our genes, how would our minds know when to release said hormones? Either way, you are confusing between love, a long term feeling, with lust, a short-term hormonal burst.

Love, the long-term feeling of attraction to another person, is genetic, because while it is lust that will get you to produce offspring, it is love that is genetically wired into your brain to keep you with the loved one and help you make sure that your children survive to adulthood.

Love is nothing more than yet another genetic self-preservation creation. People kill to remove competition. People love so that their children will not all die young.

Took time to read that article, and I agree with DGFone and Az. Love has to be within us, like DGF said about people loving there children, we love our parents do we not? ^.^

The following is not to attack anyone personally or mentally.
If we loved all people indiscriminately, we couldn't function.
What makes you say this? If we loved all people indiscriminately there would be no war, no hate, no reason to fight. Even the most unintelligent reason to fight is still a reason that holds people to follow it. Perhaps your talking about over population becoming a problem, but if that be the case it is still happening none the less in the world we live in today. For if we all loved indiscriminately than the world would be building up rather than destroying everything worked to build.
We simply are creatures of greed.
I disagree completely, because what you see is the actions of a minority and base it to be nature of the human race. I know that I am not perfect, and no one is, but one must realize that greed like I'll say below is a choice. One must simply choose to be caring, loving, forgiving, and understanding rather than be greedy.
People differ, period. They will always fight over Differences.
This is true, but that doesn't mean we should give up on humanity and let everyone destroy themselves. It's the people who stand up to change the world who keep humanity moving. If we, as all of humanity, accepted that our own destruction was inevitable then we would surely have already died out.
I'd never be able to forgive murder.
Forgiveness is a choice; just like killing. Revenge doesn't bring back happiness or your loved one. Letting go and forgiving is the only way to truly get better. Forgiveness has no value just as a persons life has no value.
Killimg is in our genes, loving is in our morals.
I disagree. Killing just like love is in our genes in the form of impulses. It takes the person to choose which impulses they give into. Killing is an impulse based upon situations; just like love. But no matter how hard the choice is people have the ability to refuse to give in.
Sex is in our genes, Love is in our brains
Now of course sex is in our genes because without it the human race could not reproduce. Lets play this little game and say love is in the head. That being said one must now look to the brain as to where it got the ability to create such things. Of course the answer is your genes; so in sense love is not just in the brain, because what the brain does to cause love is in our genes.

Does not take away that marriage is not natural and that love for one person is not forever. We are designed to get as many kids as possible, preferably with as many partners as possible. The love for one person is simply unnatural, and therefore not in our genes. The "eternal love" thing is caused by our overly active moral standards.

Of course attraction is genetic, not for love, but for offspring. Love comes with the mind, not the genes.

I can see what you mean, and I agree on a certain level. I definitely agree on the revenge not making you happiness, or bringing back your loved one. And what do you mean by a person's life having no value? A life has plenty of value...might just be me not getting it properly.

Just like you can't put a price or a worth on forgiveness. Another-words forgiveness like life has so much value that it is unmeasurable.

Hmmm.. Everyone's person's life haves value in it's own way I guess.
Also, we humans might be all different from each other but in a way we are the same.
We all feel love, hatred and everything. We just all have our own ways to deal with it.
To be honest, my own life doesn't mean too much to me. We just live, eat, sleep, care, but also take things from others at times.
And I don't think we ever can be able to make the world into a world where everybody is nice and loves each other. It's impossible.
