The Outlands are an area near the Pride Lands with a desert-like terrain, small cliffs, trees, lots of termite mounds, few plants, and seemingly no fauna.

Residents and Visitors

The Outsiders lived in an extremely large termite mound in the Outlands during The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, but left and rejoined the Pridelanders at the end of the movie.

Kiara, a princess of the Pride Lands, visited the Outlands as a cub while she was exploring outside of Simba's established path. This visit resulted in her first encounter with an Outsider: Kovu. After realizing Kiara was missing, Simba and a small number of Pridelanders went into the Outlands to bring her back.
