The Outlands is an area near the Pride Lands with a desert-like terrain, small cliffs, trees, few plants, and seemingly no fauna.

The Outlanders lived in an extremely large termite mound in the Outlands during The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, but left and rejoined the Pridelanders at the end of the movie.
Kiara, a princess of the Pride Lands, visited the Outlands as a cub while she was exploring outside of Simba's established path. This visit resulted in her first encounter with an Outlander: Kovu. After realizing Kiara was missing, Simba and a small number of Pridelanders went into the Outlanders to bring her back.
