What? No! Where did that come from? I was talking about being a military conscript - I've heard about some things that conscripts have to experience, and I don't think I'm ready for that emotional experience yet. And I'm due for conscription in 2 years, so I'm pretty friggen scared.

No, I don't think you're crazy. If you were crazy, then 99% of the people on 4chan are absolute psychotics.

I did start it almost right after I turned 18 because I wanted to make it through ASAP. And yes, when you go to army you're being kept in eye every second. Just make sure you do what you've been told to and never think anything by yourself. Say something against the commander and you will probably lose your next free days for 4 weeks. YOU'RE NEVER ALONE there, so no own time.

Try to get into good jobs. I'm Armored Jaeger (which requires the best fitness) and that was probably the worst choice ever... Combat training ALL THE TIME and you will live in the forest almost 70% of the time. It sucks when the temperature drops below -20 celcius (4 °F) for example... Some cool experiences are shooting different guns (but the cleaning of gun sucks); RK 62, APILAS, AK 74...

At the first day I though this will be cool but now it's just waiting until this is over. Officers and NCOs will make sure that you will have hard times over there and it's part of it.

In Singapore we have 2 years of conscription for able-bodied males. Most weapon-related activities from what I've heard just involves maintaining of the weapon (cleaning, field strips, etc). We get the SAR21 assault rifle, we used to have the M16.

Although we get to mess with Leopard 2A4 tanks in the armoured regiments, instead of the old AMX'13/75.

I wonder if there's any vocations that can tap on my engineering talent instead of just blindly wasting my time with marches...
