Don't come to the UK in the winter. 8c is what we call "mild" in the winter. :D

^ Lol, well I'm going to have to freeze then. You guys are still a little bit south of my destination. :ha:

And Regs, 60F doesn't require a heavy coat, a jacket is fine for us, but my dad said they had have coats on, like the kind we'd have when it's below freezing. I don't know if that's 100% true or not, but that's what I'm talking about.

Average winter temps are around 40-60F for the low and high, respectively. It's cold enough so that if you're riding your bike in the morning, you're going to want to amputate your hands if you don't have gloves.

Meanwhile, it's a constant 60F for me all day, today. We've had so much rain this year, it's like Chuck Norris is on diuretics.

40??? 40 is still flip flop weather for me!! Man, I wish we could get some rain up here! We really need it.

Amputate your hands in 40 degree weather? What are you on? Do you have anymore of it?

40F with a wind chill? Yeah, I consider that to be in the territory of burr-ass cold. That's refrigerator temperature.

Here's the Regulus method of thermal energy (in F) to physical comfort conversion, for reference:

100+ -> too damn hot
90 -> hot
80 -> warm
70 -> comfortable
60 -> cold
50 -> really cold
40 -> burr-ass cold
30 -> freezing
20 -> very freezing
10 -> how do you people live like this?
0 or less -> x_x

And thus, the number of layers of clothing required (n) to maintain comfort can be approximated by the equation, as a function of temperature (T):

n = (100 - T) / 30
Regulus
Is differentiable...

Hahaha, Burr-ass cold... Thats a keeper. I guess it all depends on the kind of weather... Its a very dry cold up here, and thats a lot different from the humid cold in Texas!
