Okay, that has got to be some of the worst advice ever, even for religious people. If you don't try to get something, you aren't going to get it.

You can't get into college by "waiting for it." You can't get a job by "waiting for it." You can't make friends by "waiting for them." You have to put forth some effort or it won't happen.

Waiting will get you nowhere if you're just some random mook. You gotta go out there and grab life by the horns, so-to-speak, if you expect to get what you want.

Of course, you do have to be patient sometimes, but that doesn't mean it's beneficial to be nothing but patient, lol.
