Squirrelflight is an idiot but that's what makes her a cool character. She should've never been with Brambleclaw in my opinion, SquirrelXAsh was better.

Yeah. Then Ashfur died because of it. From Hollyleaf. Holly wasn't even Squirrelflight's kit, and it should've been declared that Leafpool was their mother. Then Brambleclaw would've died, then Ashfur would've been deputy. Just think about the switch.
