Revenge - Shadowfax and Tsuki [Private]

[Tsuki]

Zuberi nodded as Nova stated that she would try and run. He was worried that she may strain herself. But it was either that or get caught. They had no choice.

"I can give you a head start.."

But Zuberi had also seen the small lioness approaching them. He swore under his breath and looked at Nova.

"Go now!" he hissed, "I'll meet you at the border."

Nova looked back at Zuberi. Just what was he planning? She shrugged and just hoped he wouldn't ruin things. Nova leapt off and ran wobbly towards the border. Keep your head... Run... Run god damn it! Nova cursed as the pain in her legs shot through her entire body as she ran towards the border ahead of them.

As the little lioness ran in the direction of the two scents she'd been following she skidded to a halt when she noticed that the cheetah was heading in her direction. She gulped, but continued onwards, trying to keep low so as the hunting party would not see her.

Zuberi watched as Nova disappeared into the long grass, heading towards the border. He then turned and started heading straight towards the little lioness. She didn't seem so dangerous. Zuberi could probably take her on if it came to fighting. But he had to distract her either way. He saw the lioness head towards him and he stopped as she approached. He had to come up with a plan. And a smart one at that.

The little lioness halted as Zuberi appeared infront of her. She had brown tipped ears, brown front legs and light green eyes. Her fur was a sandy colour and she also had a tuft of hair on her forehead. She blinked as Zuberi stopped her, not showing any sign of fear.

"Excuse me, I need to find someone" She told the cheetah in a voice wiser than her age.

Nova had finally reached the border and lay there panting for breath in the grass. She'd over done it, but atleast now she was free of the pridelanders. She only hoped Zuberi wasn't going to do anything stupid.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi was surprised at this lioness's tone of voice. He had expected an immature lioness who was too nosey for her own good. But this lioness was clearly experienced. This could be problematic. Zuberi had to act cool. He sat down and stared at the young lioness.

"I'm new around here. I doubt I have seen the creature you are looking for."

He hoped this was enough to put off the lioness. He hoped that she believed him.

The lioness tilted her head and eyed Zuberi suspiciously.

"The creature I am looking for is my kind. A lioness. I was informed she was dead, but I know my mother and I know she wouldn't just die from the heat. Have you seen a lone lioness on your travels?" The young lioness asked.

She didn't believe Zuberi for a moment. She was good at reading lies and she could tell by his body language he was indeed lying to her.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi blinked. This lioness was clearly smart and he took an immediate dislike to her. Why did lionesses have to act like they ruled everything? In fact, most were annoying stuck up hairballs. But when the lioness asked if he had seen any others he smirked.

"Other than yourself?"

He had to make it sound like the lioness was wasting her time.

The lioness blinked, then sighed slightly. Half with annoyance and half in irritation.

"Ok. Sorry to bother you" The lioness said.

She walked past him in the direction of the border to see what the cheetah would do. Would he stop her? She glanced back at him, then slowly turned her head back towards the direction she was headed.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi watched as the lioness headed towards the border and he panicked slightly. No. He had to remain calm. He had to sound like he was telling the truth.

"Who exactly are you looking for? I'm heading that way so I can save you the trouble. Besides your pride mates will be worried about you."

He had to distract her. He had to get her away.
