I'm still feeling sick, and thanks to my sister had to do a lot of walking today so I feel like complete crap... I guess I need to look on the plus side of it's getting late and I'll be getting my new computer tomorrow.

But it will take a long time to get my files copied over and the new one is Windows 8. :/

What have you done? Run away, Julie. Run away, and never return!

This. Sister got Win 8 on her new laptop, and we spent a good chunk of time trying to get the charms bar disabled. And we managed to download a program that gives you a start menu, like all previous versions of Windows have.

I know, it sucks, but unfortunately right now it's that or no new computer and the one I have is malfunctioning majorly. So... I have to learn to deal with it. If it's too bad, I'll just install a different OS I suppose.

Cos even if I wanted a Mac, I can't afford one, and no one sells anything other than those two in these parts.

^ Well, to be fair, Mac's are majorly overrated in terms of hardware, I know for sure.

My dad has a Windows 8 laptop and he hasn't used it once. That's how much he hates it. After trying to set it up for him, I happen to agree. Windows 8 is like Windows Visturd with an arrow to the knee. It wouldn't be too bad if the laptop had an optical drive so that I could put Windows 7 on it, but it doesn't.

This is the dark age of computing, no doubt about it.

^ Fortunately, the one I'm going to buy DOES have an optical drive, so I can put Windows 7 on it if I must.

But I've used a Mac before and it's worse than Windows 8 imo, much much worse, so even if I couldn't install 7, I'd still buy the Windows 8 before touching a Mac.

^ Not without hacking, as far as I'm aware. I suppose you could download an ISO illegally, put it on a thumb drive, and then use a legit code to activate, but that's sorta illegal.
