Ok. So apparently a two year old has been attacked by a Tapir at Dublin Zoo as the Tapir was protecting it's week old calf. Erm....why was the child even ALLOWED to go near these creatures!? They may look cute but they are classed as dangerous animals and most Zoos have to have at least two or three keepers in a tapir exhibit while they are carrying out vet tests or cleaning because they can be unpredictable. ESPECIALLY around their calves. What were the keepers thinking!? VERY bad judgement on their half I have to say.
