Ashelin walked along the corridor, her bag slung over her shoulder and two books in her hand. She looked tired from the previous nights revision, but she was determined not to show it in class. As she got round the corner, she nearly collided with someone. The books in her hand went tumbling to the floor as she glared up at the person who walked into her.

"Idiot.. watch where you're-" But she broke off realizing who it was.

"Woah, calm down there Ash" Came Aarons voice.

She smirked at him, retrieving her books from the floor.

"Going. If Matt saw that, he wouldn't be impressed. You better watch yourself" She said with a sigh, pushing her fringe out her face.

Aaron shrugged and placed his hands in his pockets as the two walked down the corridor.

"Tell you the truth, he's been acting odd of late..." She said, trailing off.

"I'm certain he's giving you the come on". Rhian rolled her eyes. Annie always assumed things. Just because her and Aaron had been talking didn't mean he liked her. Annie often had the mind of a schoolgirl but the intelligence of a university lecturer, not a university student.

"No, he's not Annie" she said back, rolling her eyes.
"It makes sense, both of you being Welsh!".

Rhian's response was cut when she turned the corner. Aaron and Ash were walking down the corridor. She smiled widely. Those two were part of her group of friends, the only one who was missing was George.
"Hey guys" she said cheerily, her accent wasn't as thick as it was when she first started. "You all off to a lecture? I know I have one with Matt now". Matt, to say the least, wasn't the nicest guy she new but he was with Ash so he was cool. Even if he had the attitude she despised in a person.

Ashelin blinked as the others came over to her. She struggled to make friends, but this little group had seemed to have accepted her. Aaron smiled as the other approached and high fived them both.

"Yep, we've also got the amazing lecture. Hopefully the lecturer gets lost or maybe she's ill" Aaron said, trailing off to think of more excuses as to why she wouldn't be there.

"If I didn't know better, i'd say you didn't want to go to this lecture" Ash said with an eyebrow raised.

"What gave it away?" Aaron said with a smirk.

Ashelin laughed and looked to the floor. A voice then made her eyes open and she sighed.

"Hey, wheres my girl?" Came Matt's voice.

"Great..." Ash muttered to herself.

"My girl" Anne whispered to Rhian. They both raised their eye brows. Annie felt a bit uncomfortable around Matt, he was cruel and quick to offend.
"If George was here, he'd have something to say about that comment", Rhian replied lowly. George was already in a lecture, but they were all going to meet up for lunch later anyway.

"You coming to Sociology?" Rhian asked the approaching Matt. As much as she disliked him, he was amazing at debating. Other than the fact he was smart, Rhian didn't see any other reason to like being in his company. He was often quite disrespectful, and said things that sounded like flirting but she had no idea. She couldn't see past him.

"Gotta go guys, lecture and stuff..." Annie trailed off, turning around and walking the opposite way to her classroom. Something isn't right about him. She thought to herself, whipping out her phone to text Rhian to apologize for walking off without a goodbye.
"She hasn't got a lecture, has she?" Aaron said, leaning close to Rhian for a brief moment so that Matt wouldn't here. Rhian shook her head.

"Sure am sweetie" Matt replied as he walked towards Rhian and the others.

Ashelin watched as Annie walked off, leaving her there with Aaron, Rhian and now Matt. He put his arm around her and Ashelin looked most uncomfortable by this. She hadn't been getting along with Matt brilliantly of late, but she allowed him to place an arm around her.

"Matt.. have you been drinking again?!" She suddenly shot at him, smelling the alcohol on his breath.

"So what? I am still sober enough to go to class" he said with a wink.

Aaron watched him closely, not really liking the fact that he had been drinking this early on in the day. By the look on Ashelin's face, she didn't approve either. Still, it wasn't his place to say anything so he kept quiet and placed his hands back in his pockets.

Rhian cringed. He called her sweetie, of all things. Drinking wasn't something Rhian did too often, but drinking in the morning took things to a whole new level. The Welsh teenager groaned jokingly,

"I'm the one sitting next to him for the next hour and a half while we all talk about how the government is running Britain into the ground!"

She glanced at her wristwatch, less than a minute before she and Matt had to be there.
"Right, we uh, better make a move". Rhian looked at Aaron and gave him a smile, "You're coming to the cafe for lunch right?" She waited for a response as she fumbled through her bag to make sure she had everything. "Are you coming as well Ash?"

"Yeh we better. We have about a minute to get there it seems" Matt said, removing his arm from around Ashelin and walking off down the corridor, his steps a little out of place.

Ash looked back at Rhian and nodded slowly at her question about lunch.

"Just watch him.. He can be a bit... Aggressive when he's had a drink. If he's out of order, you tell me ok?" She whispered to Rhian, knowing full well what Matt was like when he was properly drunk.

Matt span round down the corridor and called back to them.

"You coming Rhian?"

"Oh, I'm sure I can handle him" Rhian said naively. She was oblivious to what went on behind closed doors. "But yeah, I'll come straight to you if he says anything, don't worry". Giving Ash's hand a little squeeze, she turned away and caught up to Matt.

"See you at lunch!" she called. She held onto her bag as the two sociology students turned the corner. "You coming to lunch Matt? Or are you and Darren up to something?" she asked politely, not without a hint of curiosity though. Darren was another mystery to her, he was quieter, but as equally un-friendly as Matt was.

Ashelin sighed as Matt walked off with Rhian. She feared for her friend a little as Matt was being very 'off' of late. He would get rather rough when they were trying to sit and watch a film together and he would often disappear with Darren for a long time, telling Ash she wasn't allowed to follow. That annoyed her, but at the same time gave her some breathing space for Matt was very controlling of her.

"You two don't seem to be all too happy at the moment" Aaron remarked as they walked together.

They both had a lecture now which related to both their classes, so they had merged them.

"No... Not really" Ash said a little bitterly.

Matt smirked as Rhian mentioned about himself and Darren being up to something. He gave her arm a little squeeze.

"You know us, always up to something" He said with a wink, letting go of her arm.

"This place is so boring at the moment" Matt complained.

Rhian was all too familiar with Matt's smirks. In fact, he was always wearing one. On her first day in university he was met with a smirk as he sat next to her in their first lecture. She just laughed at him for the moment.

"Boring? The first day here you thought Uni was the best thing in the world". Rhian turned another corner, hand on the door handle to go into the lecture room. "Although, at the moment, Sociology isn't the most upbeat of subjects".

She entered the room and went to the closest available seat, not worrying to much about making sure their was a space for Matt. There was though, but she didn't complain.
