^ Because we're not a big enough fandom, that's why. Bronies are just about everywhere, but dedicated TLK fans? Not so much.
In 2012, BronyCon had about 4k attendees. MLK is the most active TLK fansite around the internet, and we have about 100 regularly active members, scattered about the world. Of those 100, how many would actually be able to make it to a convention? 30, maybe?
We also don't have the means to gather the writers and animators of the creators of TLK. Bronies are still growing as a fandom, and the reboot of the franchise is still in its infancy. The people who work on the show are working on the show as of now. It's still being made. TLK, in comparison, is a dead franchise.
15 years ago, I could have seen it happening, back when the fire for TLK was very much alive, but not so much anymore.
That being said, I would absolutely love it if we could do something like that. If there was a TLK convention within a reasonable distance from where I live (less than 5 hours or so, by car), I'd go for the day without a second thought.
