Did Simba and Nala *liked* each other as cubs?

I see two major things that answer this question:

The first is that Simba and Nala are willing to go to life-threatening adventures together, such as to the Elephant Graveyard. And there, once they met the hyenas and ran away, Simba chose to risk himself by running down to help Nala and swipe hard at Shenzi, even though adult hyenas would have a field day going up against a lion cub. With the odds against him, Simba ran down to save Nala.

And the second one is after the stampede. Simba's "death" hit Nala very hard, more than if the two of them were not friends. And after they reunited, everything Nala had to go with were her cub-hood memories of her and Simba. And even with just those, she still felt that strong bonding towards him even seconds after trying to kill him.

As for an actual crush? Perhaps. The only time we get to learn if they do *like* each other or not is when they are reunited and the "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" scene, so there is not much of an argument there.

As cubs, I dont think so. When Simba saved Nala from the stamped, I think he was just being a good friend. Whenever Zazu brings up the thought of them getting married, they both showed sighs of disgust.

If one of them did have a little crush, it would have been Nala to Simba.

i would have to agree,

the friendship between simba and nala when they were cubs is really nice
it shows how much they care about each other : )
when they became full grown lions, they remembered their friendship
and nala wanted to talk to simba alone : )
which was a sign that they like each other

I think they kind of did when they were cubs. Even though they said they saw themselves as best friends there, well if you really think about it, it was already a little romantic. The really big part of it just didn't show until later on when they reunited and had matured more.

I find it funny though, what many Youtube users said on that "seductive" part in one of the CYFTLT scene vids. I read one user's comment a while back that said, "She's ready". If, you know what I mean.

Though, I really do wonder if Timon and Pumbaa saw them, like that.

i'd definately say that it was almost like a brother-sister relationship, but maybe a little, i'd say the whole disguist thing about being betrothed was sheer embarrassment.

I personally believe that they were best friends. I think Nala may have had a small crush on Simba at the time but it was very shadowed over. Simba on the other hand seemed to be in that stage in his life where boys still went 'Ew, cooties! Ew, girls!'. I believe when Nala needed rescuing before being killed by Shenzi was Simba being a true friend who would always stick by his friends side. He was defending his best friend. To say that the death of Simba only hit Nala hard because she had a crush on Simba is quite stupid in my opinion. If my best friend died, I'm not going to ignore their death because I didn't have a crush on them. I would certainly shed tears and mourn the loss. Without considering any sub-canon cubs, Nala and Simba were the only two cubs present and as far as we know - they might've been the only ones in the pride. That also strengthens their relationship because they didn't have anybody else around to befriend. If say Tama was around then Nala might've been closer to her than Simba. And if Tojo were around then Simba might've been closer to him or vice versa.

Personally, I think Nala had something little for him but they were mainly best friends.

I believe they were just best friends, there's a clear evidence of this when Zazu says that they gonna be betrothed and they show disgust. As for the fact that she fell in love with Simba in the jungle, I think it was because she and Simba was desperate and hadn't felt real love before (she was seduced by Scar a time before this happened and she probably wanted someone that really loved her) and that later developed to a romance (but it's strangly that it happened so fast).
