Are you implying something?

That depends. What did you think I meant?
It's very obvious right from the beginning of the movie that the two share a very strong bond. Look at the way they act at the elephant graveyard. Simba easily could have let the hyenas eat Nala, and then got away. There's a reason why he didn't: because he cared for Nala just as much, if not more, than himself. The same could be said for Nala as well.
This whole bond is elaborated later in the CYFTLT scene. It is impossible to watch that and deny that they genuinely cared for one another.
That's not something that happens very often. Sure, there's always the story about the guy that fell on a grenade to save his squadmates, but how often does that sort of thing actually happen in the real world?
Yeah, Simba was the hero and all. But what if he wasn't? What if Scar killed him when he returned to Pride Rock? Would that have changed anything?
I don't think so. Nala wasn't just using Simba so that she could be the queen. She didn't love Simba because he was the hero. She loved him because she knew he actually gave a flip. He stood by her side through thick and thin, and she tried her best to do the same.
That's not something I've ever had, nor do I think it's something most people ever experience over long periods of time.
TL;DR: Giving a crap about anyone is totally gross.
