^ that is odd, although I can't exactly say I've lived long enough to notice a pattern. The first big one for me was 2005, then 2009, then 2011, and now, probably this year as well. Actually, I'll add 2010 to that list too.

Of course, that sounds ridiculous, because that implies that the other years are all pointless, which obviously isn't true.

Still, 2013 just sounds weird. Twenty-ten, twenty-eleven, and twenty-twelve are all cool, but twenty-thirteen just sounds stupid. There's too many syllables, and it doesn't flow as nicely.

Unfortunately, that'll be true until the end of the decade. Still, it's not nearly as awkward to say as nineteen-thirteen. xD
