Matt had watched how Ashelin was moving. As much as he hated to admit it, that girl knew how to fight. With a twitch of his upper lip, he walked over to Jack. He stared the younger man straight in the eye.
"Do not shout at me". Although there were older members than him in his gang, they knew how to act around Matt. When people pushed his buttons, he was known to do unspeakable things.
Matt crouched to Ashelin's level and grinned at her. "Now, as much as I hate to admit it, you know how to fight. I can offer you a place in the gang. A place you have somewhere to sleep, plenty eat, and do as you wish...certain rules apply though but they concern your loyalty towards me". He stopped, waiting for some sort of reply or expression. "I know you'll refuse, but you know what? I am determined to make you join. I have ways of convincing you".
Aaron watched with worry, but didn't show it in her face. 1 down, 3 to go, he thought. Matt moved to the little boy. He eyed him over for a moment and waved his hand. "Not worth keeping". Aaron knew this meant death. When Matt moved to Aimee and George, he watched with increased desperation. Matt began chuckling at the girl staring up at him in complete and utter fear. He liked seeing the expression in her eyes. "What to do with you two eh?".
George looked to the ground and gritted his teeth.
"Matt, look, I'll never join your gang. I don't even know why you're after me and Aimee. Just let us go. We'll move out of Wales". Matt stopped, thought a little, and began to laugh full on.
"George, look" he said, imitating him. "Don't you see? Your sister means a lot to us really. We'll keep her alive, but we can't promise nothing isn't going to happen, if you know what I mean" George struggled against the hands that held him. "You however, well, you're a waste if we kill you but a burden if we keep you. I think I'll enjoy seeing you shot though so, yeah".
Aimee had an inward gasp, followed by a sob.
"Please-" Matt wasn't going to deal with teenager sobs and upset. He gave her one hard, silencing slap and smirked. George lept up but Matt was quick to deal out a kick in the stomach.
"Please what?" Matt asked her. Aimee said nothing.
Aaron tapped Matt's shoulder.
"Hey Matt. I was just thinking, maybe we don't have to kill anybody here-"
"What, you don't agree with me?"
"No, not really. How 'bout we have a conversation. Alone". Matt took a moment for consideration before nodding.
"Keep a hold of them" the men's grips tightened as the pair walked back to the car.
George glanced up, maybe their was hope. Aaron had a way of convincing people. Aimee had attempted to reach out to hold George's hand, to do anything of comfort for them both, but the people around them prevented any sort of thing.
