What was her plan/intention?

Personally, I can`t bring myself to think that Kiara would actually elope with Kovu and turn her back on her family, her pride and her obligations to them. Of course, it would provide the perfect oppurtunity for her to escape becoming queen.

I doubt Kiara would be smart enough to be ''planning'' anything like that, while she apparently was dumb enough to believe Kovu was actually popping up in front of her out of a tiny bush no bigger then the sole of my shoe. Even my dog wouldn't be that stupid.

I believe that Kiara did intend to run away with Kovu, The lines in "Love Will Find A Way" Indicate this:
"They can have the world. We'll create our own."

It is actually Kovu saying:

"Hey look, we are one."

That makes the light bulb go off in Kiara's head and causes her to realize that they had to go back and unite the prides.
