Well this particular picture is scrapped/garbage/experimental, but...I'm juiced.

The more I think about the theory that Kopa escaped Zira by fleeing into hiding with Asante, the more inspired by it I get.

I adore both characters, & since in the fandom only Kopa surpasses hyenas on Zira's "most frequently slain" list, this keeps them both safe.

Just off-camera, too, so that Kopa and Asante can each return alive & well to their own respective homes when grown & strong/confident. Then Kiara, who balked at being queen, & Kovu, who wasn't really comfortable in the Pridelands lifestyle, can take a powder & finally run away together.

And I finally have a vehicle for all kinds of dorky hyena stuff! Maybe even the incedental sitcom or dramatic comic!

This post is pretty old, and I can't tell how often you get online, but oh well. If you get on line, you'll see I commented. I think this is super cute; I'm glad you posted it rather than "scrapping" it. How is it even garbage? It's so cute. The parallels you presented are nice ideas. Just as Simba was raised "behind the scenes," so too was Kopa--according to you--and this time, by a hyena--and this time, the king and queen are anxious to get rid of their positions.
