Favorite/Least Favorite Scene

Hm, this is tricky. When I was little, I used to LOVE the "My Lullaby" song, for some reason, and sang it out loud in the garden more than once. I now know why the neighboors closed their windows and drew the curtains.
 and I still love the scene, with the outlands scenery and the song itself. I also loved the bit when the outlanders and pridelanders face each other. I mean, the animals clearing, the vultures, the music, all that just makes it so tense and awesome XD Nuka's death was really powerful too, along with Zira slashing Kovu on the face, and him running off. Must have been pretty guilt-ridden. o-o

Anyway, my least favourite scene...um...I don't want to say Upendi but, it would've been nice if they added more to the film to smooth out Kiara and Kovu's growing relationship, and not just squash it into one song .-.

Still, most of the movie was pretty awesome :D

It's probably not my least favourite bit, but when Kiara does the flirty "...I'm Kiara" thing when they meet as cubs, that always made me cringe.

^ Even watching SP the first time, that never annoyed me, but it's kinda funny how she could be acting flirty at such an early age for a kid. :nehneh:

I agree to this. It`s awkward. Why would she flirt not only at such a young age, but also with someone she had just met?

My favorite scenes are We Are One and the first outlands scene, when there are Nuka and Vitani for the first time. I also love that scene when Kiara and Kovu are looking at the stars :) I guess my least favorite part is the Not One Of Us scene. Idk, I don't really like it.

Favourite scene in Simba's Pride is the We Are One sequence, I just love seeing Simba bonding with his little girl <3
Also the part where Kiara says to Simba, "A wise king once told me 'we are one'. I didn't understand him then...now I do."

Least favourite part would be Upendi, but I can't truly hate it.

Favourite would be Nuka's Death not that I liked him dying because he's probably one in my top five. Just the raw emotion of his final words that I truly believe made Zira realize how much she neglected her own little cub in favour of Kovu. Then my next favourite would be the whole battle scene except the Timon and Pumba part.

Least favourite: Upendi, Upendi, Upendi, oh and did I mention Upendi? They could have brought their love out in so much better ways, plus..congo line and the colours are friggin eyesores.

My favourite scene in the movie would be that one shot during Not One Of Us when Kovu stops running away from Pride Rock to look back and try to see if he could get one last glance of Kiara, finds her from what appears to be a full kilometre away, and then Simba just slides in to the shot, blocking Kovu's view of his love.

It shows how powerful the love between Kiara and Kovu's love must be - I can certainly never find one specific person at any range beyond 150 metres (partly due to bad eyesight), and yet their love was powerful enough for him to actually pick out that one lioness he loved from such a distance, especially in the short amount of time he has been glancing back for.

It also shows that Simba (because of his grudge against Scar/Kovu) was the one responsible for separating the two. His grumpy face during that shot just made me want to reach into the screen, pull him out and yell at him to let the two be together.

All that, and the music really helped to make Kovu's state of pridelessness (he belonged to neither the Pridelanders nor the Outlanders at that point) feel and seem like a big deal - because it was. And it wasn't even his fault!

--

My least favourite scene would be... My Lullaby because it felt weird to have a lullaby, a peaceful song used to induce sleep, become something like a war chant/creed because Zira keeps emphasising how Kovu was destined to kill Simba and stuff when he grows up and becomes fully trained. But then again, Outlanders work in mysterious ways.

--

Since everyone here's giving In Upendi a whole lot of flak, I thought I might as well put my two cents in and express how I feel about that scene.

I view In Upendi more of a comedic fantasy sequence than an actual story element, because the only thing I thought of the entire time was this:

"Rafiki! What are you doing! Rafiki! Stahp! You're insane! The two already know they're in love, for crying out loud! No need to direct a musical about it! Rafiki, YOU'RE INSANE!"

Being a fantasy sequence, it conveys the message that love makes crazy stuff happen in the minds of those in love - You know, things like defying Newton's laws of motion, literally holding stars in your hands, using a lilypad as a gondola, sitting on clouds, using large leaves as parachutes, etc, etc.

That's right, I don't hate In Upendi.
