Tomb Raider Reboot (2013)

So I'm sure most of you gamers have heard that Crystal Dynamics is rebooting the Tomb Raider series with a younger more less experienced Lara Croft. Here is the trailer if you are one of those people who doesn't keep up to date with trailers ;)

Here's the story so far:
Fresh from university and in search of lost relics, a 21-year-old Lara Croft journeys to an island off the coast of Japan aboard the Endurance, a salvage vessel helmed by Captain Conrad Roth. Before anchoring at bay, the ship is cloven in two by an unforeseen storm leaving Lara separated from any other survivors and washed ashore. She must endure both physical and emotional torture in order to survive the island.

So guys, what is your opinion? What do you think of the new direction they are going with the Tomb Raider series? I'm extremley interested to see how it unfolds and am definitely pre-ordering it close to 2013.

Bit disappointed there is no wii u version (Being able to switch weapons and select inventory from the touch pad is so great in action games) but other than that the game looks class.

Got to say I kind of dipped in and out of the series so far. I played TR2 and 3 then kind of stopped for ages, played TR: legend (which was awesome) and then haven't played one since then. So I'm interested to see how this one turns out. I do like the new survival focus of it all though, it really does look like a proper origins story. Usually when they do prequels like these and the character is still as powerful as in layer games it kind of makes the whole thing a bit unbelievable so yeah this does look like a much needed breath of fresh air for the genre.

I love the atmosphere of it all!

There is also talk and signs of Multiplayer (Which I don't really know how I feel about at this time) GAME UK has listed that there will be a multiplayer (http://www.game.co.uk/en/tomb-raider-ga ... b%20Raider) with you playing as either Lara’s Shipmates or Yamatai’s Scavengers. (Click See More underneath Product Summary)

Here is also another article concerning Multiplayer: http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/12/14/ ... mb-raider/

Still Pumped for this game none the less!

Multiplayer would be a welcome addition. Like uncharted, wouldn't be the primary reason for me playing the game but would add a few extra hours of play which is nice. A lot of people think that adding multiplayer sacrifices single player... But I mean, conspiracies, conspiracies everywhere.

Also, Flip about the WiiU. Square Enix are currently "looking" at making a WiiU version. If they do end up making it expect it Christmas 2013 - Early 2014.

This game kind of fell off my radar among MGS Rising and God of War Ascension plus the developers of it have kind of been douches since developing it and that threw me a little.
I'll be sure to play it of course but I'm not really sure what to expect at the moment.
