The Pride Lands now have their own demonstration plane!
What I am hoping is that some of you will be interested enough to give this plane a go and volunteer to fly this magnificent plane. We'll be able to take screenshots and record videos of our dancing in the skies and share with the great TLK community and beyond.
Requirements:
- X-Plane 10. You can grab the demo, which is free. Because it runs on all popular systems, if you have a computer that came out even two years ago, you will be able to run it. We simply won't use your computer as the photographic ship if you will have to run the sim at the minimum settings. If you can run Minecraft, you can run this (just not as well as others).
Mouse and keyboard. A joystick is required if we will attempt anything more than level-flybyes, but even if you don't want, or can't, to lay down money for good controls, I don't want to kick you out.
Microphone. We'll need to be able to talk to each other in real-time. As most of you either have built in cameras or some cheap USB camera, I don't see this as an issue. We'll also need to be able to arange times when we can fly together.
Free time: At least enough to learn how to fly straight and level at a constant speed. Currently, this is much harder than it sounds, but I think I know of a few ways to make it easier.
I know this looks like a lot of requirements, but the point is this: If you are willing to give it a go, I won't kick you out. I did this to have fun and take great pictures, perhaps also make great movies. I don't see why you guys shouldn't be able to enjoy it as well.
Here are a few quick pictures I took to share with you guys:
I hope that we can actually get something great done here, and this won't simply be a one-stop single-post topic. If you are interested, or simply have questions or comments, send me a PM or reply to this topic. I also hope that one of the mods will sticky this, because I would rather not have to see this go to the bottom of the page through dis-interest.
Let's make the Pride Lands proud and fly well!
