Yeah. Especially the Arctic ones. They do drop the temperature fairly quickly behind them, because their cold air masses are shallow in nature (usually only extending a few thousand feet from the ground). And you can easily get an over-running pattern like this where cloudiness and precip result. It's only worth it if there's moderate-heavy rain and lightning mixed in, or like you said, frozen precip.
