A Look In My Eyes

Bandhura laid to her belly as his words rang through her ears, " Before you cared for me? We can get away from your father..he wont follow us up the mountain to the great spirit" she said softly thinking. She sighed and her paw scratched at the cave ground, her ears flickering slightly.

You don't know him like I do. He will find us wherever we go. He will hunt us down and kill us. Because he thinks I killed his "son." Craig looked down knowing this would be a hard journey.

Bandhura looked to the ground and thought in her head for a minute, [b]"If he follows us to the mountain then oh well, we can lose him up there. By the time you change back, he won't know what happened. I promise I'll go with you every step of the way." she said with a warm smile to Craig. "Please Craig...you must. This is what is asked of you...by the spirit." she whispered.

Craig smiled. And why would you be with me every step of the way? He laughed. Okay we will go to where the Great Spirit said we would go. I can only hope we can make the journey.

"We can make it..have faith. Sleep now. Because tomorrow our journey starts.."she whispered laying her head back down. She let sleep take her and running through her mind was the scene of her mother. "mother.."she whimpered softly before falling back asleep.

Criag feel asleep. He had that same dream again. Except this time instread of her mother there was Bandhura right in front of him. He dreamed he shot her in cold blood. He awoke shaking again. Jeez! That was a nightmare!

-A ragged man sleeps under some pine tree branches suspended over a dug-out snow hole..-

George woke up suddenly

"What..what was that?..." He asked himself

He had dreamed of what he thought was him, shooting a cub-bearing wolf

Uh..nevermind..

George couldn't waste precious sleeping-time wondering about strange dreams. He need to get as much sleep as he could. It was past midnight, and he had an old enemy to track the day after..

He was awake still shaking. He didn't want to go back to sleep since he might dream the same dream again. He looked over at Bandhura. He smiled. At least she was still sleeping better. She deserved that after all he put her through. He wondered if his father would just walk in right now and kill him.

Bandhura felt the light shine in through the cave and she slowly opened her eyes and looked at Craig, “Morning.” She whispered. She stood to her haunches and stretched her hind legs forwards and her nails scratched at the cave floors. She let out soft yawn and then looked back to Bandhura, “Do you want to get some food then head for the mountain?” she asked softly.

"Um yeah sure. But I warn you I probably won't be much help since I couldn't sleep last night. I uh...had another nightmare." Craig really didn't want to talk about it. He tried to change the subject. "Yeah I am hungry. Let's get something to eat."
