Tajiri is a gentle soul. Unlike most of his brothers, he did not possess the traits greed, hate and jealously, although he has come across them before. He is kind, understanding, caring of those whom deserve his care and will stand by the one's who he trusts and loves. Tajiri can be a little stubborn at times, and will not think things through before jumping into danger.

Tajiri grew up in a harsh, strict pride. The Pride of Leondas (named so after the part of the great river near by) guarded it's territory ruthlessly, and Tajiri was forced into training at a young age too keep the pride's enemies at bay.

His fellow brothers despised his hidden strength, and often ganged up on him. His mother, Kujali, and his youngest brother, Jasiri, were the only ones who ever showed him love, for he wasn't rude and uncaring towards them like the rest of his brothers and pride members were. His father and leader of the Pride, Dhoruba, often beat him cruelly to keep him in place. Dhoruba eventually exiled him from the pride, after Tajiri started a fight because Dhoruba hit Kujali.

At the age of 2, he was a lone rouge. Searching the lands for a better life, he often worried about his youngest brother and his mother and what became of them. Dhoruba himself was worried...that Tajiri would return and take his revenge. He gathered a group of lions, some related to Tajiri himself, and told them to search the lands for him, and kill him.

Tajiri was miles away however, and came across another pride, The Magharibi Pride. Thinking they'd fight him, he was surprised when they welcomed him and their leader, Jua, asked him to stay. It was here he learnt he was not living a normal life back in Leondas, and it was here he met the lioness that would become his mate, Anuli.
