The Official FiM Fan Club: Mach IV

^ If a theatrical MLP movie ever comes out in the future someday, I'm just worried about that. Look what happened to Spongebob. The first 3 seasons were great. The movie came out back in 2004 and it was pretty good as well. Then after the movie, the show completely sunk low. Their quality decreased. I do not want that to happen to MLP.

Well to find out what would happen, let's look at the facts. Lauren Faust has an incredibly good track record. Though she wasn't in charge of Powerpuff Girls or Fosters, her husband was in charge. Both are creative, and she sure had her fair-share of ideas for the two shows. She created a show for little girls, but made sure to make it watchable by all. She was even recorded saying that if she could make even the smallest dent in the idea that girly = lame, she will be very satisfied. And I'd say she's made much more than a dent.

Now let's look at Spongebob. Stephen Hillenburg has also done Mother Goose and Grimm, Rocko's Modern Life, and The Mighty B. All have fans, but were never all that critically acclaimed. And surely never had fanbases like that of Craig McCracken (Lauren Faust's husband)

So with that in mind, let's examine where the shows ended. Powerpuff Girls ended with an attempt to revive the series, but ultimately failed and was taken off of the air. Fosters went down much more gracefully. 5 last episodes, including one that left the series with a very nice climax. As for Rocko's Modern Life and the Mighty B, I don't remember a single thing about those shows.

In the end, Craig's work is much more memorable than Stephen's, and Lauren Faust's was no different. She left after Season 2 started, but the team in charge of MLP FiM surely showed they could keep the show running with dignity without the creator.

In conclusion, a movie would be an excellent idea, especially once you consider that both Powerpuff Girls and Fosters Home for Imaginary friends had movies, Fosters even had three. So with that in mind, given the track record of Craig McCracken, Lauren Faust, and the entire MLP staff, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

Hm, interesting analysis. I personaly believe that an MLP movie would be epic!
However I have noticed times when movies of shows kind of acted as finalies.
Perhaps a feature length episode would suit MLP better. Then could be premiered on the Hub or something. I doubt it could downfall the series though. Not with all it's success! :nukacool:

I kinda thought it was one of the weaker episodes. It's good, no doubt, but it didn't strike any of the chords some of the others have, and... the climax was kind of a let down.

Yeah, I agree. I would've said the same thing. Spike isn't really my favorite character, but he's had some good moments.
