I seriously thought weed was illegal in Calli.

To clarify:

The idea that the only way to save the world is to get an engineering degree is beyond absurd. We face many problems - which have many possible solutions. There's more than one way to do anything.

Besides, did you even read my post? I basically said that, in order for society to function properly, we need many types of people to occupy a variety of professions.

Instead of telling everyone to stop being lazy, I'd recommend getting off your high horse at the very least.

Yes, we need many different people, but right now, we are seriously lacking in the sciences. In short, people want to "save the world" without actually doing anything.

And the whole engineering thing was a metaphor: "If you want to get something done, do it yourself."

Because one thing I don't see anyone arguing over yet is that people are perfectly content to let someone else find the solutions to life's problems.

There's nothing wrong with that. That's because no one can do everything. We're humans, not Gods. We all have our limits.

I'm not sad at the fact that we have limits.

I'm sad that too many people don't even begin to try and reach theirs.

I think you overestimate what people are capable of.

Is that really a bad thing? Better to try and reach somewhere we can't, but reach somewhere, instead of giving up, saying "no we can't" and not even trying.

And I don't think I am overestimating what people can do. We walked on the moon, remember?
