Sarafina nodded at Simba and went around to every lion and lioness, being the bearer of bad news. Finally she reached her best friend Sarabi and told her what happened. She looked at her sadly, "I don't know what could have happened, what do you think Sarabi?"

Nala? What can I do? Kaili asked quietly as she approched Nala and the still sleeping Kiara.

Sarabi was woken to the bad news of Kovu's disapperence "foul play" she told her dear friend "but who would hold a grudge against Kovu" she thought to herself "go find Vitani, i have to speak with her" Sarabi told Sarafina as she rose to her paws

Kiara suddenly woke up. She was having a nightmare with Zira killing Kovu. She quickly looked around and noticed everyone looks upset. What happened, what's wrong?

Sarabi noticed Kiara waking up and she padded over beside her and lay down "Kiara darling, we have some bad news" she told her grandaughter as she hung her head "Kovu has gone missing" she told her as she nuzzled her trying to comfort her as she knew Kiara would be devistated

Still waiting for instructions from Nala, Kaili did her best to cheer Kiara. "I am so sorry Kiara but i will do my best to help find him. Try not to worry so much." She gave the queen a friendly stroke with her muzzle.

Sarafina prowled around Priderock searching for the sand colored lioness. Eventually she found her around the back of the rock and she ran over to her.

Vitani was laying in a ray of light, happily sunbathing when Sarafina appeared before her. For a second Vitani thought it was Nala before it registered that this lioness was to old to be the Queen. Nevertheless, she stood up and lowered her head slightly to greet the elder lioness. "Good morning Sarafina, what brings you here?"

The old lioness paused to catch her breath, I'm getting to old for all this running... she thought to herself. "Vitani it's about your brother Kovu, he's gone missing. I need you to come back to the den with me for Sarabi needs to speak to you."

Vitani's eyes widen in surprise at Sarafina's words. "Missing?! How can that be?" She quickly headed towards the den with Sarafina in tow behind her.

Kiara was shocked. She looked at the spot he was sleeping and some some blood. She then turned to Sarabi. What do you mean h-he's missing? What happened? Who would ever do this? She had a lot of questions to ask.

Kaili noticed that Kiara was awake and she tried to comfort her. "Sssshhhh. Don't worry, Kiara. We are going to try our best to find him."

Sarabi nuzzled Kiara "we dont know dear, we are going to do all we can to find him" she told her as she stood up, she looked around ans spotted Vitani coming towards her in quite a hurry, she streached herself as sh wasked forward to greet Vitani looking back to Kaili and then looking to Kiara, just the way she looked at Kiara anyone could tell she was telling Kaili to watch over her, she then turned back to Vitani "do you have any idea who....." she said and then quickly realised that Kiara was listening so she lowered her voice to a whisper "Do you have any idea who could have done this?" she asked as she looked back to the pool of blood signaling with her forepaw for Vitani also to look

Simba got no reply from the figure at the bottom of pride rock, he left it for the moment and hurried back inside the main den to summon the others to go and look for Kovu as he stepped into the den he noticed that Kiara had awoken, he padded over to her side and looked down to his heart broken daughter "Kiara, im sorry" he told her, a tear came to his eye as he felt his daughters pain
