Re: Little Stranger (Taraji Chapter 1)

Even though this was the last day of her heat, Kiara couldn’t resist herself as she playfully pounced Kovu down into the soft grass, laying her warm body over his as she planted a passionate kiss over his muzzle lips, followed by a long, sensual nuzzle before she moved off of him, speaking to her mate in a teasing manner.

”Oh, I wish Honey, but I just left Taraji with Nala so she could get something to eat, so we don’t have enough time to play. Besides,” Kiara stated, a more serious look making its way upon her face as she continued. ”I wanted to talk to you about Taraji Honey. I’m a bit concerned about her behavior. She seems so shy and afraid from every little thing.” Taking up a comfortable position next to her mate, placing both of her fore legs over his chest to keep him where he was as she rested her head upon his neck, Kiara resumed. ”Just today, I was trying to teach her how to better use her senses and she got startled by birds chirping. I know that she probably had a rough past Honey, but it seems so odd to me how a cub could be so timid. Maybe I’m just being naive but do you think we should be worried about this? That sort of brings me to our next dilemma Honey. With tonight’s Pride Meeting, what are we going to do with Taraji? If chirping birds is enough to frighten her, a whole pride of strangers would probably give her an accident or something. I just don’t know what to do Honey.”

Sighing softly, Kiara started to lick over Kovu’s neck as she waited for a reply from him, hoping that he’d have some idea of what they could do in regards to their shy little cub.

Darion was watching after him in a cave as he heard his voice. He looked happily back and went towards his little brother and spoke low to him. Don't worry Mosi i'm here. Come here.
He lowered down his upper part of the body to greet him. Darion was happy Mosi wasn't really mad at him and came back on his own.
Maybe the "King" would come back sometimes but he didnt hope so.

Mosi was relived as he saw his older brother, he ran to him and nuzzled him "im sorry Darion, i was mad thats all" he told his brother as he looked up at him "im hungry" he told his brother as her rubbed his belly with his forepaw, he had a big appatite for a small lion, he was small for his age but he could also handle trouble, he knew his brother was always there to protect him so it was usually him that caused the trouble, he knew thats why Darion had acted the way he did and he didnt blame him

Rahina raised to her paws after a long while. The sun began to set already. She felt a bit hungry and so decided to catch something to eat. She still felt bad about her temper and so did not want to go back to pride rock and face Kopa.

Rahina padded through the outlands to get to the pride land and the hunting grounds. Maybe she would find a small prey there. As she came cross all the places of her cubhood she stopped here and then and her memories came back. Like the place where her father beat her pretty bad because she had asked if her mother was killed by Zira. Or the place where she had seen the oldest son of Zira... Nuka if she remembered right... for the first and only time while he got trained by Zira.
Rahina tried to remember. As far as she knew Nuka had been alive and still with the pride as she left the outlands. But she had not seen any lion who called himself Nuka at the prideland. Maybe he left before they unified the lands?

Laini walked along the small lioness. It did not take them long until the reached pride rock. Laini looked up to the setting sun. Right in front of the main den she could see the typical red mane of Daxis. "If I am not wrong it is Daxis lying there at the main den." she spoke to Almasi. "If you go to him please tell him to be at our den before it is dark outside." Laini did not want to spoil the time Daxis had to play with his new friend. Almasi seemed to be very kind on top of it. But she did not want him to stray around at night.

"My fellow lionesses!" Malachi announced to his group of 10 lionesses, "For two years we have suffered with a near-famine! Sometimes, we starve for days... And what caused this?!"

All of the lionesses turned heads to eachother in confusion, wondering how to answer. Finally, Nuru, Jamelia's mother, stepped in and asked "The Circle of Life?"and the other lionesses nodded in agreement.

"No! That THING!!" Malachi shouted while pointing a sharp claw at Jamelia.

Jamelia stood in her place, her face in a smug, sarcastic expression. "Who... me?" she asked with mock puzzlement, questioning, and bafflement, all the while, putting a paw to her chest. "Oh yes," she answered in mock self pity, "Blame the lioness with purple fur and blue eyes that eats grubs and..." her expression changed to fury and disbelief "KILLED A DAMN CROCODILE! Yes, I can't hide myself in the grass, but I damn well make up for it with my speed!" she pounded her paw on the ground when she spoke 'damn well.' "Without me, you'd starve!" she yelled. Her head turned to the queen. "Maybe we're 'starving' because Uzuri doesn't get her tail out in the hunting grounds! Some 'best huntress in the pride' you are. Uzuri doesn't even hunt with us! She sits back and waits for us to bring food to her! When we bring you food, you guys stuff your faces and leave little or none for us!"

"Not true! You shut up, you worthless blueberry!" Uzuri shouted, hoping...just hoping that the pride would blame Jamelia.

Ramla, a kind, gentle lioness finally spoke up. "Actually, it is true. We get hungry too... we do all of the work, and we get nothing. It's like being a slave."

"And what about the cubs?" Akali questioned, with quadruplets with her. "Huh? We need some of the food for them too!"
Murmurs and conversations began to start between the lionesses.

"You're only upset with me because I'm a better huntress than the queen! Admit it! Admit it!!" Jamelia demanded, very gently hopping up and down in anger.

Malachi roared, "ENOUGH!!!" and everyone became quiet. "Especially you! You've been an omen and an outcast, not to mention a smart-alac, ever since you could talk! I've had enough of you! EXILE!"

And this is where Jamelia ends up. Starving, homesick, angry, tired, and cracked/bleeding paw pads. She hadn't eaten in a few days. She came across a few prides, but they rejected her because of her fur color. She walked into the territory of the Pride Lands, hoping that she would be accepted.

Being left alone with only the company of Taraji, Kivuli and Mila, and seeing how both females were unable to really uphold any sort of conversation, the cream colored queen addressed the grey furred male in a friendly manner as she shifted her gaze, looking over at him, all be it from a sideways angle.

”You’ve been here for a long time Kivuli. You know, Mila won’t disappear if you leave her side. She’s fine Hun and you shouldn’t worry yourself over her. Why not get something to eat? Rahina and I took down a couple of wildebeest and assuming Simba and company didn’t eat the rest of it, there should be plenty left for you Hun. I don’t think Mila would want you to starve yourself after all. If I had to take a guess, it’s not only that winning personality of yours that makes her feel the way she does towards you, so you better keep up that strong physique of yours handsome.

Shifting her body with a small grunt as she felt Taraji’s sharp little teeth biting down upon her, Nala looked at the nursing cub with a warm smile as she casually asked Kivuli.

”Ever think of having cubs of your own one day Kivuli?”

==========

Simba had made it back to The Pride Lands with still no luck of finding Rahina. Feeling exhausted and irritated from what had happened earlier with those two males in The Outlands, the king’s mood wasn’t very pleasant when he spotted subtle movement coming from several hundred paces away from where he was. Narrowing his eyes, trying to see what, or who exactly, was approaching, Simba’s eyes fell upon a strange colored lioness, who appeared to be in quite poor condition. Having never seen this feline in his lands before, the cautious king approached slowly as he called out to her in a firm, yet slightly gentle voice.

”You there, who might you be and what business do you have with being in my lands?”

Typically, Simba’s more caring side would have shown through, but the former events had soured his temperament for the time being, keeping him slightly on edge as he waited for a reply from this new lioness.

"My name's Jamelia," she spoke. "You must be King Simba. I've heard about you in these parts. I've heard many tales about you, how your land recovered after your uncle took over. It's amazing how quickly they say that the land recovered. A few months? ...It's truly beautiful. I wish a king like you would rule over our pride."

She paused, sighing. "Sadly, it's opposite. I was neglected by my king, in the Savannah lands. His name was Malachi, and like his name, he sliced everyone who disobeyed him... I was the lucky one." She gently lifted a sore, bleeding paw and licked it, before she put it back onto the ground. "I was an outcast, and food was scarse in the Savannah lands... When I came in presence of my prey, they ran off because they saw me; I couldn't camouflage. But, I was quick enough to catch them before they went a couple of strides. The king and queen would stuff their faces with how much they could, which was usually more than a lion would eat. They left little or no food for the lionesses, or the cubs. It was a very horrible time. All of the cubs died of starvation. You know what the king and queen did? Sons of jackals... because they had no food, they ate the cubs... I found this out, and the king was quite angry with me. He told me that I would earn his forgiveness if I killed the Nile Crocodile at the waterhole. He terrorized everyone there, and some of my fellow pridemates were eaten from him. I killed the crocodile, but the king didn't know I was able to accomplish this task; he thought that I would be killed. The queen tattle taled on me. Jealous. That's what she was. The king didn't want competition, so he exiled me, but he lied to the pride, telling them that it was because prey ran away because of my color."

Her head hung low in shame. "I had to leave my mother and my poor old grandma.. She needs me... She's old and frail, and my mother's getting on age in too... Grandma... she's an elder, the oldest one in the pride. I'm sure they're in pain and they need my help! I want to go back to them! I want to help them but I can't... If I come back, I'll be killed... and if anyone follows me, King Malachi will get an assassin to kill them... I'll never be able to see my mother or grandma again..." she began to cry. She didn't know that her mother and grandmother already passed on to the stars, but if she did, she'd completely regret leaving. "Please, take me into your pride. I'm tired, and hungry, and my paws are sore from walking for over two weeks..."

"Not your favourite nickname, I take it?" Santiago asked with a rather hearty chuckle when he heard the course of action Vitani was threatening to take should he call her by the shorter version of her name that Nala seemed to refer to her by. Making it look like he had made a mental note to obey the lioness' wishes. However, he would probably end up calling her by the forbidden name at some point or another.

"Alright, so I'm gonna have quite a few neighbours," The lion thought aloud as he looked to each den as Vitani pointed to it and listed off the names of each of the residents in each cave. Once the lioness finally finished pointing out each den, he looked around before selecting one of the empty dens roughly in the middle of the cluster, motioning to it with his head. "This one looks pretty good."

--------------

"Who said we were going to be ignoring each other?" Caine asked as he looked over to Shani with an eyebrow raised, something inside him wondering what gave the other lion the idea that he was going to ignore him. "I don't ignore my friends." With that the lion turned so that he was facing the other feline and sat down on his haunches, preparing to listen intently to what Shani had to say. Even though he had been shot down, the lion realized that his crush on the other feline still remained.

Kivuli suddenly sprung to life as Nala spoke to him. He listened carefully to her gentle words and took it all in before replying I know Mila is fine. I just want to be here when she finally wakes. I want to be near her, I cant explain it but her presence comforts me. You don't have to worry about me being fed. I can survive days without food, yet another bonus of living in the wild.

Kivuli had a sigh. The next question for him was not something he was used to I have always wanted a family. Not something I really thought about much. As you are aware in my exile my thoughts were more focussed on my revenge than my actual life. Being here has changed that. Mila has changed that

Kivuli was about to rest when he remembered Nala saying something about Mila and wanted to look into it further You said something about Mila's feelings about me. What did you mean by that? Has she said something about me? Kivuli waited with eager eyes fixed on Nala waiting for her response

Darion nuzzled his little brother back and got on all of his 4 Paws. He listened to mosis words and looked appreciative at him. then he opened his muzzle to speak but he disturbed him again with a few words. But then he spoke low to his little brother. Its Ok Mosi. And i was hunting while you talked to.... Darion forgot the big lions name. This stranger. Darion looked up in the sun and squinted one' eyes then he looked back down to mosi and nudged him with one paw towards their small den.
The food is in our small den Mosily he smiled at the little male next to him.
