You can not escape reality.
State of Mind - The status of ones consciousness, as in their perception of the outside world, their perception of their own intuition,
and the function of their brain.
Ah but good sir, you fail to see that imagination is reality. Reality is a state of mind. My proof is you. Imagination is another state of mind. My proof is Kitva. And insisting that imagination is not reality is foolish. Everything that exists today was created by someone's mind. From the chair you sit in every day, to the concept of space travel. If you're going to say that imagination is not reality, then how has anything happened? We have managed to escape reality through imagination, from dreaming at night, to inventing airplanes; something that was thought impossible before. However, the imaginations of the Wright Brothers said otherwise.
Perception is more than just seeing what is real and what is not. Perception is seeing what is real, what can be real, and what we would like to believe is real.
Realism is overrated anyways.
There is a big difference in between imagination and realizing an imagination.
Imagination: the faculty of imagining, or of forming mental images or concepts of what is not actually present to the senses.
Reality: real things, facts, or events taken as a whole; state of affairs.
If you're so eager to debate me over what is real and not create a world issues thread, not here.
To say imaginations are real is like saying pigs can fly, dogs can talk and the Lion King is a true story.
I'm glad you brought up the definition of imagination. Because you seem to have forgotten to post another definition of it:
The ability to confront and deal with reality by using the creative power of the mind
You are correct, reality is real things, facts, and events. However, everything that has ever happened was due to the thought process and questioning what can be real. So in that logic, reality was created from imagination. It's not just the concept of creating a new world or candy colored ponies or talking lions, it's the concept of making something into reality.
And besides, why can't pigs fly? Why can't dogs talk? I perceive that technology is on its way to making these a reality. Flying machines are already in action, but what use would flying pigs bring? However, talking dogs is totally legitimate. Professionals already know how to communicate with canines, and we can create machines that allow speech for vocally impaired people. So why not dogs? It's these kind of thoughts that provoke new inventions. thought can be seen as imagination as you are going against reality, creating a picture in your mind of something that doesn't exist, and inventions are seen as reality because they exist.
Nah. Not gonna create a new thread for this. It's not gonna bother people, they can ignore it if they want. Besides, this debate is relevant to the topic at the very least.
